Finally we've got some substantial development in the realm of PS3-to-PSP connectivity, and it isn't just Remote Play either. Via TGS 2008, SCEA's announced that Resistance 2 on the PS3 and Resistance: Retribution can be connected with each other.

Linking the two games will give you access to new in-game content as well as a wholly different gaming experience. The whole process starts by infecting your PSP. Yeap, that's what it's called.

In the Resistance 2 menu, you get to choose the "Infect your PSP" option (given that your PSP's already hooked up via USB, of course). Once both systems are linked, you get more content for Retribution: new costume, new side story, new maps, weapons, abilities, oh my!

There's also the PSP Plus option. This is activated via the Resistance 2 menu as well, and it allows you to play Retribution on your PSP using a Dualshock 3 controller. And yes, that includes vibration support.

mmmm

ok great finally sony gets some common sense but its coming very slowly

why connect the psp via usb, your sending button presses, WLAN would be quick enough for that ffs, bluetooth goes up to 50ft or something wlan can cover the same distance or atleast your house, so you wont have to be tied to your ps3

Everyone keeps saying "why use a ps3 controller for the psp" or that its a weird idea, or its pointless....

My hands cramp when using the analog on the psp cause its so uncomfortable.. I always wanted to hook up my ps3 controller to the psp, hopefully it will be available to more games.
