TGS 2007: PSP turns PS3 on and off via Remote Play |
Ó
We've got an update fresh off Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kazuo Hirai's keynote speech. A new feature will be added to the Sony PlayStation Portable and the Sony PlayStation 3's Remote Play system which enables users to turn the PS3's power on and off via the PSP. This new feature will be brought in by future firmware updates.
This was revealed by Hirai during his opener at the world's largest
public game expo a few minutes ago. Sony also revealed that it won't
take long before PSPs will have the ability to form hubs as shown in
the image reproduced below.
Other Remote Play functions will be added
in due time (firmware updates) and Sony says this is only the beginning
of a project slated for the long term. Keep it right here because more
amazing TGS 2007 revelations are incoming.

awesome
. A new feature will be added to the Sony PlayStation Portable and the Sony PlayStation 3's Remote Play system which enables users to turn the PS3's power on and off via the PSP
That a must... that will when all PSP-PS3 owners will use this feature... personally I was waiting this to use the remote play feature... here in Puerto Rico have so manu hot spots... in the metropolitan area...
Sony is at its best !!! The possibility to access remotly the PS3 via PSP is already an excellent feature, but it meant that the PS3 was on. This possibility to turn the PS3 on/off via the PSP to access its content will encourage people to use the PS3 as a media center (photo, video, music, games) on the move !
I can't wait to try this ;)
I'm just waiting to be able to play games remotely.
Sweet! I was hoping this would be included soon. Most of the time when I want to stream music to my psp or something it is too much of a hassle to go downstairs and switch my ps3 on. Roxored Sox.
this is great for when your on vacation or something because i would never feel comfortable leaving my ps3 on for that long (i dont feel comfortable leaving it on overnight lol).
YESSSSS!!!! This coupled with the Play!TV or whatever it's called will be truly AWSOME. BBC in the US, It just cant get any better, I love you Sony!
im in the same boat as sheol!!!
im too lazy to go down the stairs to turn on the ps3 as well!! not to mention the fact that ive to change channel to put it on to the remote play setting thus getting earache from the wife whos probably watching qvc or some dodgy sitcom!!
