PSP Go - Image 1

We've seen the prototypes back in June, and now TGS picks up where E3 left off. Sony has announced the lineup of peripherals that you can get for the PSP Go. Fancy a little bling for your gizmos? Check 'em out.

These two will be available in Japan on December 24th, and January 10th in all other regions.
  • Bluetooth Stereo Head-set Receiver
  • Converter Cable Adaptor
These additional peripherals will launch alongside the PSP Go launch in Japan, which still doesn't have a date.
  • AC Adaptor
  • USB Cable
  • AV Cable
  • D-Terminal AV Cable
  • Component AV Cable
  • Cradle
  • Accessory Pack
  • Display Protection Film
  • Privacy Film
  • Pouch and Hand Strap (available in black and white)
  • PSP Go Pouch (available in black and grey)
  • PSP Go Leather Case and Hand Strap
  • Car Adaptor
That's not gonna be the end of the list, Sony is still planning on expanding the lineup when the PSP Go launches. Do note that for the Converter Cable Adaptor, which allows you to use existing peripherals from other PSP models (1Seg Tuner, GPS receiver, camera, etc.), Bluetooth function will not be available when it is connected to the Multi use connector.

Further details will be announced by Sony for each region when they are ready. Pricing and product specs can be found in Sony's press release.

They should've just added those as part of the bundle. It's pretty crazy to sell those peripherals with the expensive tag of the psp go. Take the HTC Touch Pro 2 for example. They've already got screen protector, leather pouch, of course usb cable... then again that's a smart phone. But it's a nice package nonetheless for a premium product. As for the go, totally not worth it IMHO. There's just too many cons vs. pros on the pspgo.

The PSP Go is what happens when Sony sends out crappy "do you like being a hacker, does it make you feel cool?" surveys and finally realizing their half-baked battery draining storage medium fails and decides to screw long time customers by giving no backwards compatibility in the same system lifetime, then charge 2.5x what It costs to buy a used PSP-1000.

Not to mention they'll sell an "adapter" to use your "old" PSP usb devices.

Sounds like a recipe for fail to me.

Stop selling ***** people don't want, Sony. Focus on a more diverse library of games outside of RPG's, Racing games, and 1-on-1 fighting games and take it easy with the system revisions for crying out loud.

» I Agree...for the most part.

BIG UPS ON BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY!! !

Other than that the ONLY reason I don't like the "new" PSP iterations is the price point! The ONLY thing the PSPgo can do that my SWEET ASS PSP1000 can't is that handy save-state feature (actually, I'm sure if I looked I could find a plug-in for 550GEN that would do it!)! I'm going to try and find that plugin right now!

However, I don't think that those VERY FEW "new" features justify the RIDICULOUS price point for the same old hardware.

Its because of CFW and it Plug-ins that our older PSP units can do all of the features the "newer" redesigned models, AND THEN SOME...in fact the FuSa plugin was out waaaaay before the PSP 3000 allowed the user to use COMPOSITE in addition to component cables for displaying the PSP on your TV!!!!

WHEN TO RAISE THE PRICEPOINT?:

When there is TRUE successor to the PSP...

...PSP2 anyone?, seriously though they need to make some MAJOR advances in two areas: GRAPHICS, and LARGER STORAGE MEDIUM - i.e. like a Blu-Ray version of the UMD which, based on the DVD to Blu-Ray storage space ratio, would yield a UMD that could hold ALOT of content!!! And this could be one MAJOR way to that Sony could prevent piracy of their games......release them on a UMD that contains a FULL game (a game/movie that takes up ALL the space on the Blu-Ray UMD or Blu-MD!) and then DO NOT release ANY memory sticks/expandable memory that have enough space to fit the entire contents of a "Blu-MD". The amount of space on a "Blu-MD" would be so immense that Memory Sticks would still be able to be released with at least an 8Gig limit....which still ALOT of space for music and movies, etc.... That alone would put a HUGE dent in the PSP "hacker" community.

I'm not complaining about piracy, nor am I stating my opinion about it one way or the other, I do ENJOY the hell out of using CFW!!!!

The save state plugin you want is dark_alex's Pspstates experiment.

» Hmm...

The PSP in the picture looks better to me than the actual PSPgo in my opinion.

USB Cable ? Why ? Doesn't the old mini-USB still fit ? Why even bother to put it ON the list ?

I read somewhere that the AC adaptor doesn't fit. Not a huge issue. Whatever. But the USB cable ????????? How dumb is that ? Having to buy ANOTHER cable just to take up ANOTHER USB slot and more space on the floor.

PS: WTH is a "Privacy Film" ?

Not sure, but I'm guessing it narrows the angle that you can view the lcd from. So, like, you can only see if it you're directly in front of it, and the guy standing next to you can't see it. It's like what some ATM's use.

Because this new usb connection combines the mini usb, serial and power socket on other Psp's to take less space and is cheaper to produce, seems like they trying to rip people off but it had to be done to make the thing smaller.
