The video's available below. Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia (and was the Genis below him?) shows up in the background for a moment, so it looks like he'll definitely be a playable character.
The game's official website has also gone live. Click on the Via link to check it out. Tales of VS is slated for a Summer 2009 release in Japan.

I'm hoping there will be an english release or at least the menus are in english since it's a versus game so it's no biggie unless of course you want to engage the story mode. Yeah, the trailer gives you something that it'll probably have the western release since after all most of the tales series have been ported already. Anyway, I've only played one tales of series and that was Tales of Destiny back in the PS1/PSX days... and it was epic. :) I guess it's time to dig in some more of these tales of series.
I completely forgot that the tales of series already had a gameplay system suitable for a smash-lite.
