Survey says EA employees happy, EA Spouse incident not tolerated |
Ó
If you remember a certain event in the past about an alleged spouse of an Electronic Arts employee speaking out against the company's practices in her livejournal, then you might want to know that EA has taken the allegations seriously. So seriously that EA started to conduct surveys to figure out just where they stood, with the latest one conducted recently.
What was the results of the survey, you ask? That 63% of the company felt motivated and excited about their job and are committed to making EA better. It's to note that only 77% of the entire EA workforce took the survey. Huh.
While we don't quite have the results of past surveys to compare them with, EA Executive Vice President of Human Resources Gabrielle Toledano says things have improved considerably since EA Spouse. Her summarization, verbatim:
We're not in a bad place on this survey. We were in a bad place three to four years ago. There's simply no tolerance at EA today for what was going on during EA Spouse.
She credits the rise in overall employee satisfaction and morale to a drastic restructuring move of EA into a "city-state" model - i.e. the splitting of the company into four separate labels, namely EA Games, The Sims, EA Casual Entertainment, and EA Sports.
Well, in any case, it's certainly good that things are looking up for the employees of EA. Here's hoping that things continue improving for the company - in all senses of the word. Updates as we get them.

nice statistic. 63% of 77% are happy. I'm guessing the other 23% hate it there, making it... something less than 50% are happy, but I really don't feel like doing math in my free time to find out exactly how much, so I won't.
