Superman Returns

Holy golden statuses, Batman, it's Superman! There's not a slight stench of kryptonite in the air here. Everything has gone smooth sailing for Electronic Arts. They have just announced that Superman Returns has now reached gold status and will be shipping to retailers on time. The game will be available on November 20 in PS2, Xbox 360, Xbox, NDS, and GBA.

Some of you folks must be wondering now about what happened to the PSP version. Well, quite honestly, we still do not know. The version for the Sony handheld is still stamped with an unsettling "TBA" release date, and there wasn't any mention of it in the gold status announcement. Was it delayed? Or worse... has it been cancelled? EA seems to have experienced a bit of kryptonite along the way after all.

Well if there's one thing we know about Superman (and if the title is any indication), it's that he will return with a renewed purpose to save Metropolis. And on that note, we'd like to end this article with a quote from Jor-El in the movie:

You will travel far, my little Kal-El, but we will never leave you - even in the face of our deaths. You will make my strength your own. You will see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father. And the father, the son.

Cancelled

I'm pretty sure it was officially cancelled some time ago. Not like its a bad thing seeing as almost every superman related game sucks (trying to think of one that doesn't, but having some difficulty lol). As for the comment about superman being the only game worth playing on psp all I have to say is... wth? If superman was the only game worth getting for any system, either: A) you don't have said system and are trying to find someway to bash it, albeit rather pathetically B) you should probably get rid of said system as you obviously don't like it C) you should get out more.

if this thing is cancelled...

..then, thank, fricking, god. i played it at E3, and it was horrible. hopefully, like a lot of games, it underwent a lot of improvements in the past six months, but EA should not have shown it at E3, much like Silicon Knights with Too Human (man, my heart fell when i saw Too Human being played- i use the term "played" loosely, as, it was practically impossible to play due to the god awful framerate). it should have stayed quiet and hidden, then, last minute, "booyah! it's on the PSP also!" sadly, this is EA we're talking about, and we know that people everywhere are still going to buy this game. on a side note, the 360 version of the game did look pretty good, even though it was at 40% complete, and the graphics were *****. the flying looked pretty fun, especially when he'd go into superspeed.

first off

If you don't like the PSP, then get out of this area. Secondly, the PSP has had some of the best games on it that I've ever played, and I'm coming back from Atari days. If anything, DS should be the one that deserves to take the fall.
