Street Fighter Alpha coming to PSN - Image 1The Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta may not have hit the PlayStation Network, but a similar game is certainly making its way to the PSN on Thursday. Capcom has announced that they are releasing Street Fighter Alpha for the PlayStation Network on August 14.

Since it'll be a PSOne Clasics game, expect it to be playable on the PS3 or PSPs after you pick it up from the PlayStation Store. Sure, it won't have the fancy online play that SSF2THDR will have, but it's a solid fighting game that's definitely worth a look.

The arcade version of this has been emulated long ago on the PSP. As for the PS1 version....who would want this on their memory stick taking up god knows how much space(most PS1 titles range from 300-700 Mb). PS1 2-D fighting games were all well-known to have frames of animation cut out, due to the PS1's lack of processing power(unlike Saturn versions of the exact titles).

Check out CPS1 and CPS2 emulators if you want any of the arcade Street Fighters. Most of these take up 5-20 Mb. Plus you won't get the dumbed down-home version of these titles.

If you don't want to steal, you don't have another option for the PS3 except buying it on eBay or some obscure store.

Most people don't know how to run homebrew in their PSP, and some even have firmwares that can't load emulators (or don't wish to buy an overpriced copy of Lumines).

And of course we can get it to run on MAME, but this is more convenient and you can play it on your big screen tv!

If it had online but it doesn't so I don't care about. Capcom's surprise announcements are just as bad as Square-Enix's shocking announcements. You will be disappointed with both companies.

We already have Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX on PSP... This might be nice for those who have a PS3, and want to beef up for Street Fighter IV... Ugh, Street Fighter IV!!! I cannot wait!!!

Keep in mind were on QJ. Pspupdates is part of the world of cfw. If your on this site frequently, most likely cfw is not a new concept for you. yamabigdog is most likely helping the cfw users of the alternate option. I agree with him too: the playstation version is the inferior version.

Also, I don't mean to be rude... but nobody here likes to hear "If you don't want to steal...". Save it for the playstation board.
