Kratos, God of War - Image 1This should decidedly shut those rumors up -- much to the disappointment of fans, am sure. Stig Asmussen himself has already denied that there will be a new God of War title for the PSP.

It was late February of this year that we tripped over rumors of an alleged new God of War for the PSP, but this is what Stig had to say about it: "I don't know where that rumor came from... I will deny that there's a new PSP game, but I will say I really hope that something like that will be done, because we saw how well that worked out before."

That still sounds pretty hopeful. So 1up asked again, just to make sure that there's nothing of the kind in development, and to get a categorical answer. This time, they got a more definitive and official "no."

Too bad, but as Stig said, we hope there will be another God of War for the PSP. Seeing how well-received Chains of Olympus was, there's no doubt that another one will be welcomed with arms wide open as well.

God of War 3 is the ending to Kratos tale, nothing left to add with another PSP game for it. besides, this opens the door to a similar game just a different mythology they can try. Viking Mythology, Egyptian Mythology anyone?

» The ending was perfect

The ending set up the first game perfectly when he got dropped by the gods where he goes to become the new god of war at the end of the first.
