Star Ocean 4 a PS3 exclusive, PSP Star Ocean character designers revealed |

To those who are praying for Star Ocean 4 to go multiplatform, here's a bit of bad news. Gaming magazine Famitsu just announced that Star Ocean 4 will be a PS3-exclusive title. Will this announcement be turned around on its head by Square Enix in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show?While the details concerning Star Ocean 4 is a tad fuzzy at best, the screenshots in Famitsu revealed a few days ago should give gamers a clue as to what they can expect from this latest Square Enix title: spaceships, swords, and what seems to be moving statues, among others.
As for the PSP Star Ocean remakes, we just sniffed out a small but interesting detail regarding the remake of Tri-Ace's epic series: Production I.G., the anime studio behind beautifully-rendered hits such as Ghost in the Shell SAC, will be in charge of the new character designs as well as animated cutscenes, ensuring lots of eye candy in the handheld remake of earlier Star Ocean titles. It's going to help a lot in carrying out Tri-Ace's goal of making sure that the remakes feel like brand-new games.

This will be the first time the first game has been released in America, so I'm glad. And I'm not counting the dejap patch for the emulators. That of course depends on if they release it in America.
Considering the Super Famicom version of Star Ocean 1 needed a special cart and chip just to fit on the media and Star Ocean 2 came on two CD's and Star Ocean 3 came on 2 full DVD's. They need that blu-ray.

This was expected, nothing big. If they were to announce it multiplatform, THAT would be big. Regardless SE needs some new IPs they are going in a good direction with the Last Remnant, let's just hope they don't whore that one out to lmao.

Going wait until 2008 for many release of RPG for PS3...and might consider of buying it depending on the RPG. But, SO4 is going to my RPG wanted list.

1 question peopels... ive only played star coean till the end of time and lvoed it buy my 2nd disk doesnt work.. well does the star ocean series follow one another or is it like Final fantasy? if so im going to have to buy that game agan

Check how much money they gained from the japanese market and compare that to the us market... lol
don't wanna read? okay, I'll write it down.
2005;
-Japan: 111k millions of yen in sales
-US: 15k millions of yen in sales
2006;
-Japan: 138k millions of yen in sales
-US: 23k millions of yen in sales
We can see two things there;
1st, square-enix make more money each year
2nd, they did 88% of that in japan for 2005 and 86% of that in japan for 2006. That only means that square-enix don't really care about the US market, they will traduct games for those sales, but it would cost too much to developp for two consoles just to have a little 12% more sales. (12% is big, but compared to the 88%...)
and what consoles do jap buy? wii, ds and ps3.
So they will do games for wii, ds and ps3...
