Square Enix trademarks Front Mission Evolved |
Ó

I haven't really kept up with the Front Mission series after the third one, but that may soon change as it looks like Square Enix is planning to bring a new Front Mission game to North America.
The company has recently registered a trademark for "Front Mission Evolved" with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark was filed on the 8th, so it could still take a while until we learn anything official about this game.
Not sure too if it's an actual new game or another rehash of an earlier release. Only three games (FM1, FM2, FM3) got released outside Japan, so Square Enix has a lot of choices if it's a rehash.
The "Evolved" part also makes me think of Front Mission: Online. A PSN and XBLA release, maybe? There was also a rumor about an Xbox 360 Front Mission game a while back, so this could be it.

ITS ABOUT FAWKING TIME, Y'ALL. seriously. i dont care if nobody else gives a ***** i care. immensely. front mission is one of the best game franchises evar. to bad Japanese game makers think that all gaijin are stupid rednecks who cant appreciate strategy games. same goes for robot wars. i would ***** if they ever released one in english. (and, no, gba games DONT count.nice try, tho!)
make it quick, too. ive been waiting along time!
I'll agree Front Mission is good, though. FM, FM2, and FM3 atleast. FM3 is easily the best game in the series that I've played not counting FM5 as it's the only one I haven't played.
FM4 is just a piece of crap, though.
Licensing issues are what's keeping the main series from being released outside Japan.
Whether you're playing the original generation games or the main games it's really not much different. Some suits are far overpowered compared to others. The series is more about leveling up and powering up the characters you're going to use more over than a good strategy. Though a little strategy is required of course.
I really think the only reason people like them is to watch the attacks over and over. The battles are far too repetitive to even be much of an enjoyment.
The only one I ever enjoyed was that Front Mission Gun Hazard for SNES but only cos it played sorta similar to the excellent Cybernator.
