IGN has posted details regarding Square Enix's upcoming Japanese fan event. First, the good news: Itadaki Street DS will be available as a playable demo for the first time. The bad news is that Final Fantasy XIII, arguably the most awaited Square Enix title for the PS3, will not be playable at all.

The event, which will happen on May 12 and 13, will showcase games that Square Enix has in store for a variety of gaming platforms ranging from consoles to mobile. There will also be a preview of the Blu-ray edition of Final Fantasy: Advent Children. The company will also be giving away some cool freebies to those who queue up and play the demos.

Here's a list of what's currently scheduled for the Square Enix Party event:
  • Square Enix - Image 1Dragon Quest Monster Joker (DS, playable)

Is that the same SquareSoft that is giving all their best portable games to the Nintendo DS? How many SE titles does the DS have now? 12? 15? More?! Its easy to see that space is not really the issue here. The PSP has other limitations that hinders its chances for success. Square-Enix Nintendo DS Games: Final Fantasy 3 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Ring of Fates Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings Final Fantasy Tactics 2 Its A Wonderful World Children of Mana Heroes of Mana Dragon Quest IX (DS Exclusive) Dragon Quest Monster Joker Front Mission DS Mario Hoops 3 on 3 *Game Development Simulator* Rumored: *Kingdom Hearts DS *Final Fantasy 7 Project* Square-Enix has also thrown a ton of support behind the GBA.
