Space Invaders Extreme, Arkanoid DS scheduled for Europe |

Now that Space Invaders Extreme's PSP port (also on the DS) has been confirmed for a June release in North America this year, ever wondered when the game will arriving for Europe? Square Enix has just announced that this Taito classic will be hitting the PAL region's shelves by this Summer, 2008. That's for both the Sony and Nintendo handheld, to be clear.
Another game that's also been confirmed for the same launch window is Arkanoid DS. The handheld port of this retro-title from 1986 will be carrying some not-so-retro innovations, including wireless multiplayer support for up to four players. And yes - Japan's paddle controller is compatible with the PAL port.
Square Enix CEO John Yamamoto had this to say regarding these upcoming releases:
With the launch of Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid DS we can offer existing fans the chance to enjoy the next level of gameplay, while offering a new audience the chance to experience these classics in a contemporary way.
