Sony to release more than 200 new titles for PS3, PSP this year |

The PS3 continues to build up steam, with Sony reportedly planning to release 90 third-party titles and 15 exclusives from first and third parties for the PS3 this year. This according to a Sony Gamers Day recap from Lazard Capital Markets.Fans of Sony's PSP handheld system will be getting some much-needed love too. According to Lazard games industry analyst Colin Sebastian, "[Sony] also indicated that 140 titles would launch on the PSP, while a video download service and hardware refresh are expected later this year."
Rumors about a hardware refresh have been floating around the Internet for quite some time now, and just recently the rumor has resurfaced once again.

Sony should really keep it's yappers shut about events. They need to just let things happen when they're legitimately ready rather than promise things that take either too long to occur or don't happen at all.

it would be even be worst if they includes some being psx ported game. but even if some of them being original downloadable contents, I think this is great news for anyone who want more games for ps3, like me
Microsoft is tackeling one by one issues and tickets that actual customers open. I don't see sony doing anything of the sort. So shut ur mouth.
That they are only releasing 200 games, and of those 200 games, only 60 are going to be for the PS3?
about that time you had to send your xbox to microsoft to get it repaired and then a week later it messes up and they tell you that you have to pay up 140 this time........NO PROBLEMS WITH MY PS3. xbox 360 is a slow piece of ***** and you cant even play the lame a$$ arcade games you brought unless your online and if your suspended from live well then there goes your money! They don't even specify if they are blu ray releases or downloadable PSN games. It's like they're just making promises to try to buy time.
You can say what you want about the 360's reliability, but the warranty is the same as the PS3's and when you get a console repaired you always get a new one year warranty along with the same console back. Why do you bi*ch about a console you don't own? Oh yeah, you're jealous it stole all the good games from your POS3!
Also, The XBOX 360's downloadable arcade games blow away PSN's pathetic selection.
Enjoy paying $5.99 for 11 year old PS1 games while I play them for free on my PSP.
this is good new and the title says MORE THAN 200 games 140 psp and 105 ps3 games this year, just check wikipeida's list of ps3 games.
I don't think there will be many downloadables(i f any), since there are so many games on wiki's list

Sounds like some xbots are getting upset. Are you afraid you can't use your "360 has a more diverse library" excuse to validate your purchase anymore? Why fear progression. PS3 is bound to get a better library, and Im just gonna be sitting back and enjoying it. Sounds like most are trying to derail the hype train that SGD built up... well good luck with that, because if they gave us this much of a taste at SGD... imagine what they have in store for E3.

i do get the feeling this list is going to be like 'train sim 2007' and 'mahjong extreme' etc... like at launch 'we've got 30 titles for launch' and it turned out as far as i could tell there were about 5.
but i AM excited about having a large choice of games to play on my 'POS3 (very clever ... ugh).

i am a little disheartened by the lack of ps3 stuff, but then again i lurve the demos for free download and the wicked fast speed of download... i don't know if xbox does that, but really i don't care.
yeah, ok, psn games are few and far between but really it's only the beginning and soon enough we'll all have plenty to do.
still, i hope some of the upcoming games are good, and worth buying.

I have the 360 and right now the dvd drive wont open. Do you know why? Because its a piece of slow trash. They told me my one year warrenty was over and i had to pay them 140 to get it fixed.......I rather play final fantasy 7 full screen for 5 bucks then pay 10 dollers for a corny a$$ arcade game that I have to have an internet connection to pay for. The 360 menus are slow and sluggish reminds me of windows 95.....a big piece of sh**. Have fun playing your arcade games in the little shack you call home! Because its the only place where you have internet and if the bill doesnt get paid have fun playing the trial version when you paid for the full.
This is the latest in ridiculous 360-Fanboyism. If Sony actually delivers near 100 games in 1 yr, that will already give 360 a run for its money in content. --Not to mention the significant amount of 3rd-and-1st Party cash being invested in the PS3 fanbase. Downloadables or not, that's big, big money.

Hey, 200 games sounds good to me even if they manage to deliver half that amount and half of that is good. That's still plenty of games for everyone. That's only from Sony and there will be even more games from 3rd party developers.

my lame ass friend sold a 360 then bought it again then sold it for a ps3, then wanted to trade me for week for my xbox and now with the awesome titles Microsoft is promising he is going to buy a 360 yet again for the third time and during this time trying to find a descent game or two for his ps3 microsoft is good at what it does and keeps making it better

i find it funny to broadcast its number of games when nintendo did the same thing a while ago.
i applaud for everything sony is doing because every little bit of action they do always opposes what mirosoft is doing thus the sony fans benefits. simple and plain as it is sony is not ripping people for downloadable upgrades, doesnt mislead people into downloading something free but in order to really play it you have to pay for the next installment, yes lots of podcasts says LIVE is doing that, ripping people out of their money. PSN titles are few but quite frankly almost all of em are new original titles for all gamers to enjoy, and some old fan requested titles too. now if we can only buy em easily without credit card, hey sony how can we buy any stuff you release when we dont hava credit cards or invalid ccards? a lot of PS3 users are willing to purchase but the lack of PSN point cards hampers your sales! think about it and maybe you can decide the next day if you want more e-sales or are you sony corps not quite ready?

I wonder if Gran turismo 4 portable will be one of the games released. I remember when i first saw an advertisement for the psp, long before it was even released, and it was advertised alongside a GT4 UMD. 3 years later we are still waiting for that game, I love my ps2 and psp but the fact remains game corporations are scummy and dishonest. I mean *****, they have came out with like 4 need for speeds in that time and there trying to convince us GT4 has been in the makes for 3 years now, BS!! they'll do anything for your money. I stand to mention that you practically can't even GIVE away the xbox360 in japan(Sony's native land). At least some people realize junk when they see it. Wii of course sold more units, due to the fact that Nintendo caters to the parents of young children. BTW EA is not a good dev, they are like Nintendo with GB remakes, EA spits out yearly updates of their franchises with minimal changes. NFS for example, most wanted was long and good but carbon was short and rushed, both with major glitches. It made more money the 360 cause barely anyone even bought it until later on and unlike the 360, the ps3 internet service is free and ppl realized this so most of ur 360 fanboys converted to the ps3, and it got more money then the wii cause of its cheap price. lol one ps3 is like 3 wii's so even though they sold more consoles sony got more money
