Sony releases PSP-E1000 tech specs

Sony has released the official system specifications of its upcoming budget-priced PSP model, the PSP-E1000 series. Last week, we already learned that the €99.99 device will not be equipped with a wi-fi, now another interesting omission have been discovered - on-board stereo sound. The PSP-E1000 will only come with one monaural speaker on the unit.

The value-priced PSP model is slated to arrive later this Fall in Europe. Earlier today, some anonymous hackers was able to grab hold of the device for a little homebrew run down.

so basically, its the same PSP but with downgraded hardware. i could buy one of these if it will be hacked and can play ISO/CSO just like the rest of the older PSP.

the price is even less than a 2nd hand PSP.
but the problem is there aren't a lot of upcoming games for PSP, so i could just save the money for buying a Vita and one Vita game.

buy the psv day one! the first gen will be the most vulnerable, next hardware revisions and system updates will attempt to cover most of them.

No wi-fi and MONO speaker? Are you kidding me? This is 2011, Sony. Nobody is going to want this PSP, even if they are a cheapy.

Maybe no serious gamers or techies will want it, but it's the perfect toy to buy for kids. The psp was always a bit too high end--I wouldn't put it in a young kid's hands because I would have to cry when I saw the scratches he'd put all over it, but a cheapy psp would be perfect. Little kids won't notice the difference between mono and stereo. I never found much reason to use the wifi and I wouldn't let a young kid use it anyway.

Its' a psp w/o Wifi so, no online or group gaming seems sort of disappointing. At least this shows that the aren't going to be killing the psp anytime soon regardless of the vita's status well, unless this "new" psp sells like wet bread.

this is purely for the "corp wars" thing. sony can't get the price lower than nintendo, but they HAVE to keep as close as possible. so if nintendo is cutting 50$ from the price, sony looks for solutions to follow. that's not to blame, though. there sure is a market for such psp, and honestly in my area i never got into multiplayer with ANY game, be it ad-hoc or online.
btw, do you know any game that has heavy online play? i want to try that, but where do i find players?

I used to play SOCOM Fire Team Bravo, which was pretty awesome online. Also GTA LCS multiplayer was a big hit among me and a lot of my friends, back in the day when my friends actually had PSP's... Oh.. Those were the days...
