Sony Ericsson 'pleased' with PlayStation on Xperia Play |

Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play is one of Sony's big hopes in the mobile market. The smartphone comes with a much touted PlayStation Certified branding, meaning it comes with the ability to download and play PlayStation One games right out of the box.
Reports, however, state that the PlayStation branding isn't really drawing people in. According to PlayStation LifeStyle, sales for the PSOne titles already available for the Xperia Play aren't really soaring. Most of them are stuck below the 1,000 mark in terms of listed installs at the Android Marketplace.
The company is seemingly nonplussed, though. Dominic Neil-Dwyer, Head of Market Development at Sony Ericsson, told the PlayStation-focused gaming news blog that they are "very happy" with the response to the device and its games lineup so far.
"There's only a few, at the minute, PlayStation One titles there, and there's more coming on a regular basis, and there's the whole PlayStation as a content provider exclusive to the device, the story about that, that will emerge and people will see," he said.
"So, there's no concerns, it's a revolutionary device, it's shaking up the market, we're very pleased with it. In terms of getting the PlayStation Certified program out, generally, we're very happy. I think we'll make a full assessment of if it has achieved our expectations fully, further down the line, so we're very happy."
Dyer further assured Xperia Play owners that they can expect the smartphone's PlayStation lineup to grow. "We're releasing as we go, rather than telling everyone the full story," he said.

I was able to get the most of what I wanted in my XperiaPlay so far:
As smartphone, gingerbread is a very sleek smartphone OS and very responsive. and,
As a gaming device, it is the best android device to run emulators with a very convenient physical buttons.
I used to have my emulators on PSP1000 but it wasn't as convenient as having them in a smartphone.
Some of the emulators:
Snes9x EX is free and it's the best SNES emulator

FPSE is the best PSone emulator

PSX4Droid also a PSone emulator (inferior compatibility with some games compared to to FPSE) is not any more in the android market but you can still get it for free from the official site of the developers (ZodTTD)
N64oid is Nintendo 64 emulator not available anymore on the market but I'm sure you could find the apk file if you google it. the rumor is that the developer pull it down to work on major update.
There is more emulators available in the market that you could search for

Other than emulation, there are some of the android games optimized for the Play which does feel remarkably better to control with regular buttons.
Overall, I'm very pleased. but PS Suite is what missing. I really hope to hear about it in E3.
I know PSN integration had to come with it as well as the cloud saving feature. They should do some preparation for that since they are rebuilding PSN anyway.

they arent gonna sell many games when the people buying android devices in the first place arent iTards. i have the xperia play, and i have to say that playing Mario kart 64 and Gran turismo 2 on the go is quite satisfying...apart from a couple of niggling things, on the whole im impressed with the device
