SOCOM 2, Lair, and Heavenly Sword in UK this May |

Good news readers! The official PlayStation site for the UK has just updated its release calendar for PSP and PS3 titles and we so love to share it with you. And from the look of things, May will be the month to watch out for.On the PSP side, fans can kiss their waiting woes goodbye as SOCOM: U.S. NAVY SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 is slated for a May release. Actually, the FPS video game has been available for Continental U.S. ever since November of 2006 though we guess that it's about time for our UK counterparts to join in the fun. The new game features a truck-load of improvements from the last version, among which include multiplayer support.
PS3 fans, on the other hand, get a combo as both Heavenly Sword and Lair were listed. Unlike SOCOM, these PS3 titles haven't been launched anywhere else, so this is a first for them, unless Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) says otherwise. And then there's Lair... need we say more?
Heavenly Sword is a marriage of movie and video game development. It uses real-life actors, including Andy Serkis (a.k.a., Smeagol / Gollum), to make the movements and facial expressions of in-game characters more life-like. The game is about a dying girl who embarks on a last journey to topple the tyrant king of her land.
If you think launch day was good, May is definitely going to be better. As they say, "It's gonna be HUGE!"

i really, really hope this is true. ever since i got my hands on Heavenly Sword at E3 last year, i've been itching to go at it again. if both HS and Lair are releasing in May in the UK, then it's only a matter of time before the US gets it. they've been saying these games were near done for so long, it's about time to start getting some real time frames for release. here's hoping there's a tasty demo of both to go along with Ninja Gaiden Sigma's demo next month. and since it's not April 1st yet, i wouldn't count this as an April Fool's day joke.

It sucks that over here in the US we have to wait forever in between having a PS3 and getting a really good PS3 game, while in the PAL territories they only have a two month gap, man I'm annoyed. Also its frustrating that they don't have an actual release day.
PS3 = region free gaming. US peeps can import if they want. Yeah, boost our UK sales so more games get released over here first. ;p

I'll definitely be getting both these games the minute they come out. I think with the release of both of these games, summer coming, and high school kids getting summer jobs, you'll see a huge leap in ps3 sales. Now if Sony would just lower the price a bit. I have numerous friends that say they will buy one, they just won't spend $600.00...even if they have to wait 2 years for the price to drop. Also, it's too bad my fellow American's can't support Sony as well as others around the world. All we need is for Microsoft to have another monopoly (Sarcastic--since a lot of you don't pick up on it.)
Man Americans are arrogant. We here in the UK have had to wait over a year for the PS3 due to delays, and over 4 months since it has been released in the USA. We desevre something first, just cuz ur the USA doesnt make you centre of attention!

wait forever? i bought my PS3 i late February. got Resistance same day. got Virtual Fighter 5 on March 20 got Motorstorm a week later got Oblivion last week. all in all, i didn't wait too long. waiting for good games after a console launches is standard practice (or did you forget the craptacular launch titles that accompanied the PS2, and the mediocrefest that wast the 360 launch?). usually, around March or so, the titles slowly start to trickle in, building up to that late summer/fall flood. the PS3 has been no different from any of the consoles that have launched before it.

Hmmm. You didn't have to write that way to try to explain something. It shows the kind of person you are. A repply to #5... Toronto is not the most multi-cultural city in the entire world. To start Brazil as a country wins that hands down and Sao Paulo (city..not state) could put Toronto to shame any day.
I'd like to think that was true but Kingdom hearts two didnt come out in uk for almost a year after the american release, it's the same for alot of games.
i checked play asia and they wont export games to UK if they aren't already out in UK. It might be the same if americans want to import from a UK site.
Why mention the 360 ? oh and Oblivion you waited a year longer for that its budget on my PC now I hope they didnt charge you full price for such an old game?.
And if you are American why would you want Sony to have the monopoly ?. The PS3 will never sell well in the USA just like the 360 in Japan........

I don't want Sony or Microsoft to have a monopoly. It's the competition that makes both better. I own both consoles and enjoy both. I just hate seeing all the Sony haters; they make a really good console so give them some props.
