Where are the ninjas? - Image 1Avast, landlubbers! Take-Two Interactive and Firaxis happily announce that a bunch of scurvy knaves shall invade game stores as scheduled today, packaged in little UMD discs for the PSP. Certainly one of the more interesting ports to the PSP we've seen in some time now, Sid Meier's Pirates! is now available at your friendly neighborhood store for the price of eight doubloons, or US $ 22.99 (and since doubloons are extinct, that leaves...).

If you have played the PC or Xbox 360 version of this update of a Sid Meier classic, then you know what to expect: ships, sails, swashbuckles, revenge against a family enemy, and Dance Dance Revolution with every Governor's daughter in the Carribean. And the PSP version promises four-way battles via Wi-Fi, and "fully-utilized widescreen and controls" (hey, we had to quote on that one).

This writer remembers the PC version being a hoot, and having it on the go might be quite a nice idea, too (hey, I don't have a laptop...). Let's see how this game plays in the days to come. Now excuse me, but aren't there a couple of decks that need some swabbing?

OMG

I am so excited about this title. But once again Europe has last priority with a release somewhere at the end of Februari :(

............

Thank GOD another game thats already been made. I can't wait for the release of more and more remakes, with almost nothing original! If it weren't for homebrew I think that I would have ran over my psp long ago. Why not remake God of War... I guess I should be happy that I have the ps1, at least those games were original...

Pirates!

ummm I'm sorry guys, but except for the excitment of another game for the psp coming out, Sid Meirs Game of Pirates! was a substandard peice of garbage. bad graphics, Bad Game play, just plain Bad. OH and Boring.

^^^^^^

IGN's review says you are wrong.

Idiots

Reviews suggest this is a top title. Honestly, do some of you guys even think or do your research before running your mouths off? The 'modern' PC version was an instant classic, and reverred by many gaming magazines and websites. I'm so pleased that its made its way to my favourite handheld gaming device. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
