SCEE: French retailers NOT refusing to stock PSP Go |
Ó
News broke out earlier that French retailers have refused to stock the PSP Go, citing its lack of physical media as the primary reason. When independent retailers in the UK such as Chips and Grainger admit to not stocking the new handheld yet, the inclination is that this news is highly probable. SCEE, however, wasted no time in quashing the news.
“No French retailers have refused to stock the Go,” SCEE told VG247, adding that the story simply wasn't true."
With the lack UMD support, secondhand game sales, and a swear-inducing price tag to go with it, the PSP Go doesn't exactly sound like a retailer's dream come true. But whether or not the retailers will lend their support to a platform that may not benefit them remains to be seen.

imo, they should stock them, because if someone is looking to buy the psp go, they will, so if one retailer doesnt have, others will, therefore thats a lose in sales, and that customers swapping over to downloadable content regard.
I really can't see the PSP Go becoming a success, considering its ridiculous Euro price tag and the fact that it just isn't an attractive product because PSP-3000 has a bigger screen and DOES support both UMD and downloadable content. Also, there is only a marginal market for a pocket PSP when the original is a very nicely designed product already. In other words, PSP Go is an overpriced product that hopes to gain success in an already saturated market and so it's only right for it to flop hard.
it's being made to handle third party apps and other things... who knows what else they'll try to implement into it... even if it doesn't make sells in the games department, they might make sales in others... using it daily as like a pda, mobile video/music player, or something else, other than playing games, would be more comfortable than carrying a wide psp.
