Rockstar to appeal Manhunt 2 ban next week |
Ó
Rockstar Games will be making another push next week to get Manhunt 2 (Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Wii) onto store shelves in the UK. According to MCV, the publisher will be taking its case to the Video Appeals Committee on November 26.The meeting between Rockstar and the Video Appeals Committee will take place in London's The De Vere Hotel, where Rockstar will appeal against the British Board of Film Classification's (BBFC) decision to ban Manhunt 2 in the UK. This was reportedly confirmed by the BBFC.
The publisher will be appealing to get the revised version of Manhunt 2 - which is the same as the one currently being sold in the U.S. - onto UK store shelves. The BBFC rejected the revisions made to the game early last month. Rockstar has also hit some walls stateside, with Target confirming that it has removed Manhunt 2 from its shelves.

All this struggle is doing nothing but helping to promote a game that isn't even good. I've played it and Manhunt 2 is crap at its worse. However, younger gamers are going to be drawn to this game just because it has a lot of gore and violence to try and seem more mature than they are. If Jack Thompson and all the other censorship advocates wanted to prevent kids from playing this game they would promote the negative reviews and show that the game sucks on so many levels.
The BBFC must be suggesting the screen go black and say "bad stuff is going on" every time someone is killed. Then the will approve this already heavily toned down game, removing what little fun it was to begin with.
Well I wouldn't go as far as to say that this game "sucks", but it definately isn't good. I totally agree with you, they should have just kept their mouths closed, beacuse all of this bad media is just going to help the game sales. Not to mention that Target pulled this game from their shelves as well. Again this game isn't even that violent, I mean in the Original Mortal Kombat you can rip off heads with the spine hanging, but on this game they black out the screen when you just do an execution by hitting an enemy with a shovel.......
this game is pure crap don't even need to say anything else
Rockstar is horribly and heartless people and they have no respect and it's sickening and perverting! GO AWAY!
Dude, don't you have anything else better to do than follow Rockstar posts and leave stupid comments?
