Rockstar calls Manhunt 2 BBFC Ban "unacceptable" |
Ó
Rockstar has just given a statement as a reply to the British Board of Film Classification's earlier announcement of rejecting the changes made to Manhunt 2. With the BBFC rejecting the revisions in the game's content, the game for the Wii and PSP will still be banned from being published in Britain.A spokesperson for Rockstar had this to say to IGN:
We are continuing to appeal the British Board of Film Classification's (BBFC) decision to deny the edited version of Manhunt 2 an 18+ certificate and thereby ban its release in the United Kingdom.
The changes necessary in order to publish the game in Britain are unacceptable to us and represent a setback for video games. The BBFC allows adults the freedom to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in movies and we think adults should be similarly allowed to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in video games, such as Manhunt 2.
Fear not, gamers in the UK. Rockstar is going to be appealing to the Board (again). Considering the time, money, and effort they must have spent to revise Manhunt 2, you could probably assume how determined Rockstar would be to get the ban lifted.

parliament ask their mummies if they can come out stay out after dark too.
What kind of a world is it that we live in where we can no longer decide for ourselves what completely legal items we should or should not buy? I, for one, don't need anyone telling me that a GAME is inappropriate. I don't care if it depicts women getting raped. if I want to buy a video game with the money I earn, then dammit, I want to buy that game! This world is going to hell faster than you can say "we no longer have any personal freedoms or rights".
My comment above was not insinuating that Manhunt 2 depicts the rape of anyone. My point is that as an adult, I should have the right to choose what is or is not appropriate for me, no matter what the content is.
I agree its been like that since we have a retarded president of the united states.
has BBFC forgot that kids have a mom and dad?
Parents should look out of what games to get, not the government.
Parents should worry about having clouths for kids
Government should not.
Parents should spend more time with the kids.
Government forces kids to go to school.
Parents should teach the children
Government wants their way of teaching.
Parents fix good for kids
But no the government wants you to eat *****ty food and give you cheap food card that won't last at least a month.
Parents fix good for kids
I mean...
Parents fix good food for kids
At least it's slightly better in the US.
But still the ratings are deceving, here's what they really mean.
Teen: Shooting and killing is OK, as long as there's no blood. Anything sexual is a no no. Anyone 13 or over can buy.
Mature: Oh no when you shoot someone blood comes out! Even though only adults 17 or over can buy it, you still can't have much sexual content. R rated movie content isn't allowed here!
Adults Only: Nobody can buy it, nobody sells it, nobody makes it, who knows what you could see! A game with this rating would be just too horrible to release to mankind. Civilization would crumble!
hahaha nice dude..nice
lol!
is better because we know whats wrong and whats not, so our system is much looser then the one in uk
hey rockstar why dont you rename the game and publish by a dummy rockstar company so that this game can get under BBFC noses.
anyways if they still dont want your game then screw these gamers under their territory. just have the american version also playable on UK systems so that they can import and play your game. the loss will be on their market and will be the gain of american gaming market and also yours.
The Rubik's Cube should be banned from anyone since it can cause serious addiction and it can kill you if you think too hard.
But seriously, BBFC shouldn't be able to do anything like this.
man i waz hoping to play this game on june but no...they had to ban it -_-
WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAAA
keep up the good work BBFC, maybe the US can follow your lead. Hey where's Jack Thompson
Rockstar sucks ass and anyone who thinks there games are worth a damn.
Agreed - I'm over 18 (screw it i'm over 21 - over 25 - ok i'm 30 yrs old). I enjoy mature content - I want mature content - why must I be denied mature content?
Maybe Manhunt 3 on the PS3 will be allowed to release in all it's glory (probably unlikely but I'll dream about it).
