Riviera: The Promised Land... promises a lot |
Ó

Originally a Sting Entertainment game for the WonderSwan, then ported (by Atlus) to the Gameboy Advance, Riviera: The Promised Land is heading its smashing point-and-click adventure over to the PSP. It's coming so soon, in fact, that it will already be released in Japan by November 22. As for a US release, no word yet. But! We got more info for you guys...
While ports have a trend of "staying the same + extras," this game actually has a lot to boast about on the PSP. Riviera: The Promised Land will include 50 new CG sequences, better graphics, and a full cast for the voices. It's going to be a treat for both old and new fans of the game.
For those not familiar with the game, some story elements are similar to that of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - which also happens to be a port. The plot takes its roots on the Norse and Greek mythos, and twists it into a very unique RPG experience. It is this twist which pegged it high up the ladder of the GBA charts during the summer of 2005.
Now let's all just hope that the game doesn't just get ported to the PSP, but to the Western shores as well.

Looks like a fun game to play.
i played this game on GBA
i fkn hated it.
Sting ported the game to GBA themselves, Atlus did the translation.
this game is not that bad i'd say, even liked it
better graphics?they are the same of the gba version in these screenshots...and gameplay like valkirye profile?WTF are you guys smoking?i need some of that....
But I doubt it will be orth it on PSP. The graphics look the same...
I wanted this game when it was on the GBA but I was never able to get it. I don't think it ever came out in america, did it?
Yeah it came out in America, took me a while to find a place that had it though. And that was when it first came out. Good game, I'd buy it again for psp, but it really does look like the exactly the same.
I liked the gba version, but never had a chance to buy it. I don't know if its worth buying it just for CG's and voice acting...
The Graphics look the same as the GBA, only the effects on the attacks look a bit better. I was kinda hoping for a bit more to fill that UMD o.o
