Using XVI32, and the "replace " function, I searched for 2.81 TEXT, and replaced it with 2.80. If you want to do it manually, it's line 130.

I have my demo running smoothly on my 2.80 Just search 4 a free text editor on google. then replace 2.81 with 2.80. Easy as pie!

Easy

1) Google and download XVI32. 2) Run XVI32. 3) Open the eboot.pbp in XVI32 4) Use the "replace" tool to look for "2.82". Replace with whatever firmware you are using. 5) Put it in the correct folder. 6) Put that folder in the GAME folder on your psp

Why and why?!

Why are people hexing it from 2.81 to 2.80? If that actually works why not hex it to 1.5 so there would be no reason to upgrade youe PSP? Or to 2.71 and use Devhook? None of this makes sense. Also, the game is out in Europe (FULL UMD) and runs fine on 2.71 Devhook.

simple. just use a editor and change 2.81 to 2.80, and "blink!", it works

i used a hex editor myself , put the file in 2.80, and it works just fine. By the way, people that say its corrupted, its cuz inside the folder UCES00422, theres another copy of the folder inside. Delete the extra folder and then it will work.

I think that your problem is that the folder UCES00422 has another copy of UCES00422 inside it, delete the extra folder and it will work on a 2.81. Or 2.80 if its been edited.

I already have this game and if you have the first ridge racer for psp then there's no need to buy this game because it's almost identical to the first. The menus are the same all the cars are the same only about 3 new cars added and one or two new tracks and all the music and unlockables are exatly the same. I does'nt look like they put much.......er'm wait they didn't put any effort onto the sequal. I would only suggest this game to you if you haven't played the first game.

The reason why you cant get it to load on 1.0 or any thing llower than 2.7 is because sony didn't make demos then so the psp doesn't recognize it

Ridge Racer 2 is the most dissappointing effort from Namco to date (and I am a big namco fan). This game is *EXACTLY* the same as the first one. Same interface, same look in every way. Even the menu's are all still EXACTLY the same. There are 5 new tracks and different intro movie, aside from that, it's Ridge Racer 1. Anyone expecting something more will be VERY dissappointed (as I was). Imagine finding 5 addon tracks for RR1 and installing them into your current game, you'd have the exact same thing. What a shame, I LOVE RR, but t his is just the saddest ripoff of a game ever. Namco - what were you guys thinking. This should be called "Ridge Racer 1a", nothing more. It's NOT a sequel by any stretch of the imagination. You've been warned... don't hold your breath.

all ya gat 2 do is 1)download pbp unpacker 2)extract the eboot 3) edit the PARAM.SFO file 4) where it says PSP_SYSTEM_VER edit that to 2.80 5)Save the eboot and it will promt u for other files 6)place the extracted files pic1.png and data.psp in the folder and walla it will work on 2.80. 2.81 uses same encryption as 2.80 so u just gotta edit the system run version !!!! Im 12 so all u gays out there who dont know how 2 do it are DUMP
