Resident Evil PSP petition passes 10,000 signature mark |

A few days ago, we posted a rather intriguing bit of information for you guys about the possibility of Resident Evil hitting the PSP, thanks to a petition by loyal Resident Evil fans. Here's what was said by a Capcom representative, just in case you forgot: "As we plan for future games the team will definitely consider the fans and specifically your petition. It does have impact. Keep me updated on the number of signatures. If you get over 10,000 that will draw significant attention."
Well, here's a little update for all those folks hoping that the PSP would get some zombie loving. Thanks to Happytomato, we just found out that the "Resident Evil for PSP" petition has already surpassed 10,000 signatures, and is clearly heading to the 11,000 mark. What better way to celebrate that little milestone by reminding the Capcom representative of what he said, right?
Congratulations to the petitioners who are working to make themselves heard. Hopefully, this'll mean a PSP based RE game sometime in the future.

If there is a RE on the PSP, what will it be like? 3rd person like RE4? static backgrounds like RE0-3? or 2D like RE Gaiden? Personally, I would want it like RE0-3, beautiful static backgrounds with crazy good lookin action happening, instead of mediocre 3rd person camera, hard to control controls, aiming gun, and all that stuff that gets in the way, especially on the psp.
Whoever wrote that petition is a moron. The amount of grammatical and spelling errors in it is ridiculous and hurts the legitimacy of the cause.
It's also too vague about what Resident Evil game to bring to the PSP. If they bring over a PS1 game, it's pointless. We all have custom firmware, right? We can play any of the Resident Evil games released on the PS1 already.
The petition calls for a port of an existing Resident Evil game. Really, the only good game that we can't play on the PSP already would be Resident Evil 4, but even that's pointless - who would want an inferior version of this when it's already on four platforms (non-handhelds)?

first not all the people like the CFW, yes i admit the CFW was awesome and i have it to.
second, if you dont like the game to be on psp then dont play it or just ignore it, someone like me who wants to play it on my psp with REAL RE rmk or new one so that the psp games was much more entertaining not only simple action, tactics, RPGs and kiddie games.
third and last, i think its good for you to not reply on this thread since this thread is for submitting the petition who wants RE series will play on psp, in short wrong thread.

But really why would Capcom spend the time and money making a brand new Resident Evil on the PSP when they know they are not going to be able to make a profit off the PSP. Why you ask? Because people are going to download it plain and simple. Around 75% percent of PSP owners are on Custom Firmware and running illegally downloaded ISOS and they won't hesitate to download this game so they can play it for free. Then Capcom will have no choice but to port it to the PS2 or some other console so they can at least make a small profit.

Hehe, well it's a nice idea to make a petition, but I already know what's gonna happen :
"I have good news and bad news for you : the good one is that we will make a Resident Evil game on the PSP. The bad one is that it will be a crappy remake of an old Resident Evil! MUHAHA did you think you'd get a brand new game? We're talking about the PSP there, the land of ported games and crappy remakes!", the Capcom representative says.
Well I don't think a capcom representative would say it like that, but meh, that's what will happen anyway. How many original games does the PSP have...? (talking about real, good games there, not crappy mini-games and stuff). And it was already like that before the birth of custom firmwares, so hopefully noone will pretend it's because of piracy that we get such crappy games (btw, piracy on Nintendo DS is even easier, and less dangerous, than on PSP - no need to downgrade, so no chance of bricking - however, the DS sells millions of games, and they get more original games than the PSP)
