Resident Evil: Director's Cut PSN release confirmed, dated, and priced |
Ó

Remember those five PSOne games that were recently rated by the ESRB for the PSP and PS3? One of those games has already been confirmed for release, raising the chances of the other four getting official confirmation too.
Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil: Director's Cut will indeed be getting a PSN release as a PSOne Classic. You won't even have to wait too long, as the game will be on the PlayStation Store on Thursday, May 28, for US$ 9.99.

Thats the only dissapointing thing from this article. the other ps1 games are all only like 5 bucks. it's still worth the purchase but i hope thats one part pspupdates got wrong. and im excited to see metal gear solid ( which can be 10 bucks due to more discs) on the psn bout time..now just a few more games.
Doom, fear effect and maybe a bomberman variant?
Yeah, the 10 bucks is kinda high, but I'd gladly spend that if they put Fear Effect on the PSN.
Why was it rated again? It was rated back when it came out in 1997, it doesn't need to be rerated ever ytime it gets released for a new platform. Its the exact same game. Either way, I will not be buying it. I can buy the disked version for about that price.
After playing the better GC version I couldn't get back into the original PS1 version. The atmosphere and everything is just better on the newer version.
The GC version was much better....and iv actually been looking to get a new gc.. there only like 20 bucks too.
But there is a sort of luxury of being able to play it on the ps3. i know for a fact that if i had some decent PSN games on my ps3( better than whats already out) than my friends would play those..
and to that effect i look mad forward to this. as i enjoyed it anyways and its not a lowwer quality game
sorry sony...pick better games,...spyro was decent same with daxter but i wanna be able to play ff7 or 9 or fear effect..
and metal gear solid is the start of this (good games on the psn)
@ Karl B
yeah i have really been wondering why hasn't sony gone for the indy games that were bomb. i mean fear effect 1 or 2 would be amazing..and that way they can hit the adult demo graphic.
LOL
one day actual gamers will be in the industry and we might not have to worry about this crap. but till then w/e i guess
Sometimes it's better to play the classics. Like I still prefer DOOM I and II over DOOM III.
Nintendo charges $5 for their regular NES games on virtual console. Now that's a rip off.
You guys griping about the price did read the part about it being a "Director's Cut", right? --Maybe they've redone the game for 16x9 and updated the graphics a bit. (Unless I'm being stupid, and there was a Director's Cut of the game sometime long ago that I've forgotten about.) If they did revise it somehow, that would probably be well worth $5 over the 'normal' PS1 price.
Sadly, damonous, you missed it way back in the original PlayStation days when Capcom remade Resident Evil three times. The Director's Cut had some added scenes and gameplay elements to prime gamers for the release of RE2. A third edition was the DualShock edition, which let players use the new analog control stick in the game.
There were also some censorship issues with the original release, although it's hard to say what the PSN one will contain since there were supposedly botches in the source code that kept things censored in the DC cut. It's also unclear whether the PSN one will be the DualShock version (which was a modified version of Director's Cut but with even more changes,) which would be assy for PS3 owners (and even PSP, since I don't think the game used both sticks) if it's not.
Are you a retard or something? Doom 3 is a loose remake of Doom 1. Resident Evil on the GC is the first game but with some minor gameplay tweaks and better graphics. That's it. In every single aspect the GC remake is better than the original.
Whereas Doom 3 was an entire gameplay shift (hordes of enemies in an arcade setting vs. a more limited, horror and plot-based setting).
