Race Driver 2006Codemasters has confirmed today that the long-awaited racing title for the Playstation Portable, Race Driver 2006, has gone gold and will be on North American shelves on May 30.

Race Driver 2006 is made by the team that brought you the TOCA Racer Driver series, featuring two massive game modes, Career and TransWorld Cup. With the addition of 30 challenges, the game is filled to the brim with great single-player racing action.

You can take the trophies home on 60 circuits, from Laguna Seca to Nashville Super Speedway, and with 50 racing machines from almost every famous manufacturer - Aston Martin, Ford, Mercedes, and many more. And when you want to show your friends how racing is done, boot up the multiplayer modes allowing up to 12 players at once to compete via WiFi. 4 players can get to the action with just one copy of Race Driver using GameShare, so there'll be as much multiplayer fun to be had as in single-player mode.

With that said, Racer Driver 2006 is another addition to the already strong roster of racing games for the PSP - with the game's release less than a week away, we'll update you with new coverage as the game hits stores and receives reviews.

WOW, this blow my mind. Online mode is going to be awsome. And look at the screen, almost looks like what gt4 mobile might be, when the game release.

Toca Race Driver 2

How different is this game to Toca Race Driver 2 for the PSP. Looks the same except different cars/tracks for the american market. Is this game worth importing?

It will likely just be an update of TOCA 2, Codemasters just recycle the same three games for all the consoles (LMA, TOCA, McCrae). And McCrae and TOCA used to be the same engine too! I wonder why it doesn't have the TOCA name? Maybe Codemasters were too cheap to pay for the licence on this one.
