quite an elaborate hoax, if it can be told

All controls coloured in blue are customizable :)

GReat layout just clever, and the control idea I didin't thought that it was possible that's impressive!

Quite an ingenious idea to use the remote but it sucks for guys like me who have lost their crappy remote. :(
by - 2006-01-02 06:00:00

you can buy the remote from elbo for $5, that's what i did, because i have a 1000 basic set from jpn and it didn't come with the remote... or a useless 32MB card lol

I made up the basic layout.

Actually I designed 2 concepts. One for ppl with and one for ppl without remote. This is basically the cocept I made for ppl without remote and some extra features added on the remote.
The other concept had room for item and weapon changing in both directions. But I also like how Zonk edited it, because there are no important things on the remote, so you only need one Profile.

It was Zonk's idea to use the remote in the first place.

Acutally it doesn't matter much, because most things are costomizeable.

did quake 2 have auto aim feature (or is this what the game isgoing to be like in psp).

also i think there's only like 3 extra buttons for me on my control (not including hold - volumes)

those are probably not programable. if they are then i'm seeing the 6 buttons.

Good grief, it even includes controls for the headphone remote that comes with the psp?!?!

That's what I call dedication!!

SWEET!!! McZonk your the man. does this man it will actualy allow mp3 support or is it just skip the actual Quake II songs. oh man i seriously cant wait.

McZonk you are a legend.

wow, that is genious to use the remote control for game input - not even the commercial games are doing that! (that i know of...) now you will see them all copy you!

viva la homebrew!

Using the remote is a good thing! Keep up the good work McZonk

Holy F***!?
Now i cant really w8 for this port.
One question tho:
Will it support ad-hoc/infanstructure mode for multiplayer?
by - 2006-01-02 22:45:00

HUBBA JIGGA WHA?!

Excellent work McZonk!!! Using the remote control for gameplay!! I would have never thought of it!! Excellent work!! Keep it going!!
by - 2006-01-02 23:41:00

You know what a Analog input for the PSP in the headphone jack would me an awesome idea...

There's six buttons on the remote so that's enough for each direction, perfect for first person shooters
by - 2006-01-02 23:44:00

WOW! thast all I have to say, and if we actually do see a retail game come out using the headphone remote for gameplay, they better FCKING give him and the scene credit! so we have to own the actual game to be able to play this port correct? I have no problem with that, if someone does not mind answering that for me I will hop on over to my local EB games and buy a copy :) GREAT WORK GUYS!
by - 2006-01-02 23:57:00

Yeh if it needs a retail copy, im cool with that, i bought Quake 4, and it came with Quake 2 free. ( Bonus! )

Infrastructure was hinted apon, and i damn well hope its implemented, this is one of the more organised productions, its being released like a insider game.

Also the remote idea is awesome, but sometimes u might not have the remote around, and want to play quake, what then? I never use the remote, its too bulky ( Long Ass Cord )

But this will be giving it some use, ( I guess if theres Infrastucure mode ill be in my house anyway. )

Also, will Quake allow mods? Is it a direct port, or a copy feature port, a direct port, would mean same features but less stability, and a copy feature port would mean less features full optimized for porting platform. ( PSP In this case )

A direct port would require players to own the real quake II files, but sadly this won't stop piracy...

WOOT Can't Wait! A medal for anyone who can, wait thats NOONE! Go McZonk!
