yea nobody gives a crap about oldschool games those aren't that addicting we need something that makes us WANT to upgrade and WANT to do things this is just bs that they can't make a good game except for something like grand theft auto when nds is making awsome games high quality + bad games = gay low quality + great games = great sure the psp is more versatile but nds sticks to games and those are up to date

Funny thing is that I can emulate versions of those NDS games almost exactly. Case in point: Mario Kart. I can run the SNES version on my PSP at full speed. It was dual screen back then, it also plays almost identically and looks pretty damn close. This is a great indication of how little that Nintendo innovates if you ask me. PSP is temporarily down, but once Sony gets it's act together and tries to focus on it's strengths it's bound to become more appreciated. A lot of the faults can be easily rectified: eg. they can still distribute the games on UMD and have them install and run from MS. Bingo, no more slow loads and much longer battery life. The list goes on, but the PSP has much more versatility than any DS could ever have.

The only reason so many people on this site like the PSP is because it's really fun to be into homebrew and be a part of the community. If it wasn't for the fact that the PSP's firmware was cracked, you would all hate the PSP. I mean the PSP homebrew scene is AMAZING, it's kind of like being on a rollercoaster. One day, you're sitting there bored with your small collection of PSP games, then you check QJ and read that HOLY **** there is an n64 emulator?!?! It's fun as hell. Just remember though, this is a sony product, sony doesn't want you to do homebrew and sony is trying to stop you from doing homebrew.

PSP vs. DS

Alteast we can all agree that Round one (or two) of the PSP vs. DS resulted in the DS winning. The PSP just had bad games, being bad for many reasons (HUGE load time, Ports, Glitches in each game, etc.). The DS on the other hand did have somewhat of a "port" (like Mario Kart, Mario 64, etc.) but they had their own twist in the DS. Also DS games aren't all ports, like the PSP SEEMS to be. Sony didn't help much either, caring more about stopping the homebrew scene countlessly (but failing) instead of making the psp play different vid files, have better internet browser, etc. They just didn't improve the PSP as much as they should and could've done. They put all their time on the ps3, while abandoning their psp users (it seems like that) Nintendo supported their NDS users all the way. They made games on the DS more fun and (as they started becoming more used to programming with the Touch screen in mind) creative. They were also able to support the nintendo wii simultaneously, having advents to show off the wii to fanboys, and even our parents (lol). Sony's last chance to reclaim the title would be next year, although things are looking better for Sony with the PS3 ALMOST here along with the GPS/Camera. Although i thought Sony lost a few weeks ago, Im now thinking they might make it, if they all all the right cards.

This is a great indication of how little that Nintendo innovates if you ask me." wtf are you talking about? comparing the snes mario kart to the ds one is like comparing the original nes metal gear to metal gear solid. The ds one is the best one to date and it has online play. I can also emulate all those psp games on my laptop with the ps one emulator (and there is even a ps2 emulator) since all of them are ports or ripoffs. And the ds games arent ports they are sequels with online play and a new fresh control scheme.

I have faith Sony can get their act together - they just need to "pull a Nintendo", and release a decent update to the PSP system itself. Better battery life and loading times (2x UMD drive?) would be a great start. I wouldn't have bought a DS before the Lite came out and fixed all the issues with the original model, and I imagine a lot of people how aren't into homebrew just see the LONG (and they are LONG) loading times of UMDs, and just give up. Let's face it - PSP has some great games, but they nearly all test your patience for a portable system. At the moment, running stuff off your memory card is the only answer. So c'mon Sony. Do it. Release the upgrade. Do it. Do it. DO IT :)
