Ó
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe just announced that they're releasing the new PSP Media Manager content organizer for Europe's use. The Media Manager allows PSP owners to organize non-game files in their PSP such as videos, music, images and documents, and to transfer them from PSP to PC and vice-versa via a simple drag-and-drop system.
Features include the ability to move around multi-file bundles, and a media previewer so you'll always know what you're transferring. The Media Manager also automatically converts files to specific formats needed for viewing, allowing for a more user-friendly way of accessing your files. Specifics files types it can handle will be discussed in a little while.
Organizing aside, it also allows you to transfer Internet Explorer favorites from your PC to your PSP, and allows you to back up your Memory S tick game data to your PC.
Currently priced at €9.99, (USD $12.73), the Media Manager is available for download this November 3, and will be available in stores purchase by November 8, at €19.99 (USD $24.50). As for the files types it can handle, here's the info:

Developer A: Yes sir! I believe the community is going to be mighty pleased with this. She's a fine ship, Cap'n!
Marketer B: Wait a minute... Did you say "free?" Do you know how much money we lost this year?
Developer A: Uh...?
Marketer A: Hey, you're right! This has cost us literally hundreds of dollars, not to mention all the valuable time taken from the PS3 Dev Tools that poor Brian is working on, all by himself...
Marketer B: So, whaddayathink? Five bucks?
Marketer A: Nah, go for gold. I say twelve.
Developer A: But... The kids can already do this for free. How are you expecti- OUCH!
Marketer B: Shutup and go make me a cup of double cream latte on the double! And make the puppy blood extra whipped!

And i still have problems with all those freeware converters out there. Sometimes they plain refuse files they should accept, somtimes the converted output will not work for no apparent reason, sometimes the sound and video go massivly out of synch.
