Ó

The hard working folks from the DaedalusX64 team has recently updated their ever-improving Nintendo 64 emulator project for the PlayStation Portable. Now in revision 718, the latest update includes the following features and imrpovements...

DaedalusX64

Changelogs:

  • [=>] Merged from Dev branch:
    • Rev 306 - Salvy
      • [!] Remove country ID line from cheats to speed up cheat parsing (this was redundant anyways, since we now insert that info in the name itself)
      • [!] Updated entry of Aerogauge as an example how cheats are formatted now.
      • Note : All cheats need to be updated!
    • Rev 307 - Salvy
      • [!] Simplified DMA_PI_CopyFromRDRAM (we only for DOM2/ADDR2 anyways)
      • [!] Simplified WriteValue_Cartridge (Added notes too for games that write to ROM in DOM1/ADDR2..)
      • [!] Moved RTC READ out of ProcessEeprom to keep code clean, and added an assert for NOP cmds in PIF.
      • [~] Killed a couple of dead externals
      • [!] Signed extend DADD/DADDU and also operand in 32bit (fixes Excite Bike and saves 4 ops)
      • [~] Small clean ups here and there..
    • Rev 308 - Salvy
      • [!] Small fix for cheat names
      • [!] Updated all cheat entries

Developer's note:

This release of DaedalusX64 is currently in beta stages of development.

As for the past releases of Daedalus PSP, this project is intended to show the potential for a N64 emulator on the PSP, but the currentrelease has many missing features that make it far from usable:

  • Many roms won't boot.
  • Some roms have serious graphical glitches.
  • Various roms have random lockups and crashes.
  • Many roms run at a low framerate.

Having said all that, We believe most of these problems can be overcome in the near future.

Installation:

  • Copy the Daedalus folder to the \PSP\GAME\ folder on your PSP.
  • Daedalus requires Custom Firmware 4.00 or higher, failing to install CFW 4.00 or higher will mean Daedalus does not load past the firmware check screen.

Upgrade Procedure

  • Remove all HLE files from the SaveGames folder
  • Remove rom.db and preferences.ini
  • This will ensure that Daedalus is fresh.
