Ó

U.P.Episode 18 of PSP Hacking 101 will most probably be heavy on discussions about the "World's First PSP Modchip" - The Sony PSP Undiluted Platinum. How'd I guess? Well, I'm not really psychic - just that Pox and Ragable's release of a PSP Hacking 101 Modchip Preview Episode let the cat out of the bag.

This PSP Hacking 101 Modchip preview shows us all the Undiluted Platinum packaging, the opening the package, and a sneak peek at the installation of the modchip. If the installation guide we provided you last month was not enough and you need a visual cue to make sure you are doing the right thing (after all, soldering and modding experience is required to  install this thing correctly), then Episode 18 is surely a good thing for you to watch out.

Meanwhile, below is the download of the Modchip Preview from PSP Hacking 101.

if you listen to commucast 7, pox and ragable nearly screwed up pox's psp (they had to use super glue to help fix it...its so funny). can't wait to go home and watch them do it on camera...

I don't know that when I get my modchip I'll try install it myself...I might have a shot at it, but I don't wanna ruin my only psp...

how many of you's (without any experience) will try to install this thing yourselves, i just wanna know...?

The WMV is the right vid. Unfortunately, the MPEG4 vid that I posted, which I got from the PSPhacking101, seems to be the wrong. We've put it down. We'll try to post the correct vid as soon as we get it. ^^

Is the U.P. worth it now? With FW2.7 recently decrypted and Devhook working for FW2.6 (and I'm sure 2.7 soon) is there much need for a modchip? Particularly one that requires 20+ wires to be soldered.

It almost seems like the mod chip doesnt exist. There was all this hype and stuff before it came out and then after the release date no one seems to mention it at all. I'm wondering if anyone has a modded psp and if they could share their experience.

This video pretty much useless, just a way to get people eager for the next one.

If they've already done it.. Why not release the video right now?

Stupid.

Pox (the person in the video) already messed up 2 PSPs trying to get the modchip on.

He managed to fix one, but no longer can he put modchip on it.

So they decided to send in their psp to UP in order to install it.

Which means, us regular people, will not be able to install it unless u have great experinece in soldering with crazy equipments, OR send it to UP and pay 200 for install..

Damn UP, they made this in order to gain off installing money, not the price for the modchip.

I cant believe people still care about the modchip. Its useless now that we can have custom firmwares on 1.00 psps. With all the downgraders, the modchip can only help people with a 2.70+ psp. And even that is being decrypted. The modchip was hype to begin with, but now its not even news worthy. I personally, never joined in the hype because i realized how useless it was, with the price, the difficulty of soldering it. heh, people laughed at me cause they said "Soldering it in would be easy" Well , whos laughing now? Just downgrade your psp to 1.00, and wait till we release a custom firmware for 1.00. What do you know? Didnt cost you a penny.

modchip can never be useless if its relashable & may even bypass psps own firmware flashchip...which means u can put 7.1 on i guess, who knows for sure till the dev bods do their ting, im an xbox chipper n im gonna go n buy a psp to chip specially to show it aint no diff, jsut a smaller sodler iron is needed......and superglue ive heard

hehe, hey...im a tattooist an i used to use needles bound with thread & coated with superglue to make my needles stay on the bar.....now i have medication that helps

preparing the board and installing the mod-chip looks to be unbelievably difficult and painfull. the soldering points are sooooo tiny!!!!
