PSP Go revealed in June Qore, with pics and video |

According to Gaming Console Network, the PSP Go looks like this:
Okay. Kinda fugly, but that's alright. GCN also said that it will have 16GB memory (this is on-board, I think) and another memory slot, presumably for a memory stick. The price is still TBA and the release is this fall. Also, the PSP Go won't be replacing the PSP 3000. Instead they'll be both sold side by side.
Here are some shots of the PSP Go packaging from PlayStation LifeStyle:
And finally, here's a video of the Qore episode that talks about the PSP Go. Listen carefully for the launch titles. I heard LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo (which will supposedly be announced at E3), Jak and Daxter, and a new Metal Gear Solid. Is this the new Metal Gear that's being teased?
Goddammit E3, hurry up and answer all our questions!
Note: Had to replace the video since the first one got pulled.

it has somewhat "childish" look to it, but that just my opinion.

this won't work as a PSP2, it won't get dedicated games, it is just like any other current model of the PSP, just a new desgin and features.
and i like the look of it, and it's quite a bit smaller, definately something i would consider having in my pocket.
the older PSPs were just a bit too big for the average pocket, but this looks just perfect the "PSP Go" indeed

I have a question though. If this is the UMD-less PSP, what will happen to people who trade in their PSP for this and still wanna play their UMD games?

but no, you had to go make it look like THAT. i REALLY hope this is an early pic of it, they need to refine it way more, too mcuh of the console is a blank face, they need to manage space better and probably change the shape so it wont look so... bulky

And this thing is very pretty and portable. If they added a touchscreen and an accelerometer, then they beat the Ipod Touch "AND" the DSi which was never good to begin with :P. I love the bluetooth support and now I really want to buy a bluetooth headset!! If there is a touchscreen, then you'd be able to controll it while it isn't open.
They made it prettier than all the fake pics that I've seen. My only wish is that the specs are even "better" than the psp 3000 so that they could make special games for only that console.

PSN store is stupid, UMDs should not be discontinued. Its kinda like having a record or CD collection. What've u got to show with a stupid *****ing download code? Nothing.
And another thing. ***** touchscreen. Sony would've designed it in the first place if they wanted it or thought it was a good idea.
If they keep producing ***** with EVERYTHING built into it, then there is no excitement with the PSP anymore, it has everything with no complaints no posts about the latest homebrew and how to pimp it out. Progress stops here...
You wanna know why the PSP scene is pretty slow now? Everyone's anticipating on the new devices and completely forgetting the old stuff.
Viva la PSP 1000-2000

Until they release a Portable Playstation for HARDCORE gamers, with TWO analogue sticks and four Triggers, Vibration, BIG HD Screen (like 5 inch or summin) i wont be buying.

1. MS micro slot will a MS work?
2. No mention of a MIC
3. No mention of a camera
4. No mention of GPS
5. No touch...
mmm this is not the PSP I have been waiting for.
If anyone buys this ... I'm afraid you have been had.
I do not believe this is what consumers want.
This device is to test their digital download service/feature only. Like the DSi its not in my budget.
Empty calories.

overall that would just be too big, and sony would lose alot of customers. hence, your dream machine will never come true. sorry.

got it now?

Consumers are generally useless idiots. That's why they can get away with the bare minimum like this and still sell a *****ton of units.

but hey, if it's cheaper and umd-less therefore less battery consumption plus it has all the function the psp has. then it's probably good news. i guess it's digital download ftw!... for now.

naming conventions aside, this confirmation teaches me two things.
1) John Koller is nothing but a big fat liar for always always denying all those rumors in the past. "there is no new psp in the works" "we have no plans of..." "there will be no new hardware announcements..." etc etc etc. John Koller you suck. but we love you anyway.
and 2) all those people who slammed qj for posting rumors about a psp2 months ago, where are you now? huh huh huh? kinduv an i told you so moment huh? hahaha! what ungrateful little trolls.

Yeah, no. That's strictly hear-say there, Chronos15. That's like saying "my uncle's coworker's father-in-law works for Nintendo, and he says they're going to make a Wii 2".
They said it all right, but unless there's proof it doesn't mean anything. And thats what I don't see right now: proof.

I read from another site: 3.8" for this and 4.3' for the older ones. lol..

If we can use something like chickhen to run homebrew it will be awesome!

it has 16GB memory on it's internal Flash drive (Hard disk drive)... it doesn't have 16GB ram... if it keeps the same amount of ram since the update of ram from PSP model 2000, it has 64 Megabyte ram...
Reply
also, if they made the PSP square, it would look old-ish and boring, whereas its current shape makes it look more futuristic...
Reply
however, it could be doen like with the nintendo DSi, where it has a camera, and the previous version don't which means new games will support this, but it isn't a needed feature, thus they make it compatible with odler versions... but again, with the PSP, a 2nd analog stick would change they way of playing the games completely... it will have to be named "PSP2" before you get your god-forsaken second analog stick... i know i suck at explaining, but it's really quite logical... hope a few more people reads it this time, so we can get rid of that request!
... it's like asking sony to make the PSP just as good as the PS3... which would result in games, made for THAT, not compatible with the first version of the PSP... see it yet??
Reply
they won't add a 2nd analog stick aslong as they are on the PSP1, they may do so when they get to PSP2, and that's just how it is... stop whining, shut up, go play some games!

i swear, i bet if someone everyone on qj was mailed a 100 dollar bill, we would see tons of people posting comments about how theirs was wrinkled.

HAHAHAHA!
i would buy this if it were....
hahahahaha!

The PSP Go is more for mobile phone users and attracts to people like that. The PSP Go and PSP 3000 will be sold with different aspects in mind, so keep that in mind.

1)take your old PSP with umd slot and insert UMD
2)in VSH menu set usb device to UMD drive, NOT memory stick
3)reboot PSP
4)attach psp to computer via USB cable
5) drag the ISO9660 image OFF of the "diskdrive" your PC reads the PSP as, and rename it.
now youve made an ISO of your legally owned UMD game and can copy it to your UMDless PPSgo. And, you did it without downloading any special software. just dont forget to open your vshmenu back up and set the usb device back to memory stick or you wont be able to play your games.
NOW QUIT WHINING ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR OLD UMDS!

I thought this was common knowledge, I just find the design to suck in all honesty. They should've just used the same look style as the current one.

Either way, HOLY CRAP!!! GRAN TURISMO ON PSP!!!!!

Two analog sticks would be likely in PSP2 not PSPGo!
If Sony decide that PSP2 will have backwards compatibility, it would most likely disable the use of the secondary stick for legacy games.
Use your brains morons! My apologies to those who actually understand, I know your also feed up with all those stupid comments.
