PSP Go also gets a price cut

Does anyone really care? Or will this actually make people buy the darn thing?

Sony had recently announced the price drop on the PSP-3000. It'll now be available at only US$ 129.99 and it'll have an updated list of Greatest Hits and Favorites that you can get for US$ 19.99 and US$ 9.99 respectively.

It seems that Sony didn't forget about its unpopular little brother, the PSP Go. It'll now be available at US$ 149.99 and will have access to same library of titles as the PSP, minues the ones that only come in UMD.

The PSP Go recently had quite a sales burst in Japan. It doesn't compare to the real sales race in the region, but it was more than a remarkable performance for the portable during that period. Perhaps Sony expects that the same can happen in North America?

In the meantime, SCEE is teasing "exciting" PSP plans for their own region.

Whether you like it or not, without this, NGP wouldn't be the kick-ass machine it looks like becoming - Sony execs are acknowledging the mistakes of the past and how those have helped form NGP - http://bit.ly/gesaSh

Sign me up!!! With all that's happening with the Homebrew Community, I think it's time I upgrade from my Phat to the Go. All my UMD games are now supported via HEN/CFW, all my PSN games are playable because of the latest firmware, and it's more portable. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Wow, you are one of the very few people who get it right. Most of the idiots say that they could care less and it's god damn irritating. wish i could care less about it :P

You know, it shoulda been that price this whole time. I don't see why it's worth more than a standard PSP. Blu-Tooth doesn't make up for the lack of a UMD drive.

It's worth more because they knew it would eventually be hacked. That, and Flash memory is still pretty expensive. It's not THAT expensive, but Sony likes to inflate their prices to sap as many pennies as they can from customers.

bluetooth, faster wifi, and 16gb onboard flash memory TOTALLY outweighs the loss of the lameass umd drive. umds are badly constructed anyways. its been murder to keep the umds i bought in operational shape, all required me to buy replacement cases from ebay (which as chinese knockoff crap are constructed better than the OEM cases

blablablaim a pirate... yes i am. cry to someone who cares.

The PSP Go uses the same 802.11b as all other PSP models. And since some users are tied to onboard download only (some people I know either don't have computers or no home internet on their desktops), it's completely fucking useless if you're downloading a 3GB game. And bluetooth is useless if you just want a PSP.

I don't blame you for pirating PSP games, though. That system is useless without modding, kinda like the iPod touch.

It became worth buying when it was cracked. Sure, the cheaper price makes it a bit sweeter, but who we really owe are the devs that opened up its true, full potential.
