With the release of FW 5.01 last week, Sony's now rolled out the accompanying Media Manager v3.0. The biggest change is that it now includes direct PlayStation Store support. Homebrew apps aside, what better way to manage all that content you've downloaded from the PS Store, yes?

Just so you know, if you have the retail version of Media Manager v2.5, the upgrade to Media Manager PRO v3.0 is also free online (see Via link below for more info). We also have a video walkthrough of the new Media Manager from the PlayStation Blog:

Here's the official changelog for Media Manager v3.0:
  • Access to PlayStation®Store is now available directly from Media Manager for PSP™.
  • Support for Russian, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese has been added.

Media manager [...] it allows you to store items from your psp on your pc.

Lots of potential for hacking right there ;)

» You don't really need this software...

You can just drag and drop your media into the folders on the PSP. This program is just for people used to using a program with their mobile device.

» Well...

I guess i should have been more specific:

In terms of downloadable games the PSP is still a pretty unhacked device. If they'll allow back-up of said games on the PC maybe then some of the protection methods involved will be discovered.

Just think of it, for the back-up to be operational once re-loaded on the PSP they'll have to store on the PC whatever files the downloadable game needs for it to work. That alone might give us more insight on how to make download only titles to work on CFW ;)

» Uh..

Download-only titles already work on CFW..

There was this patcher of some kind released a while ago.
