Sony has announced that they will release a new system firmware update for the PSP "soon."

The latest update, tagged as version 6.38 includes nothing more than the usual "system stability improvements" that we have been all getting since the past few few releases.
"Hi everyone, a new PSP system software update, v6.38, will be released soon," notes SCEA's Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network operations. "System software stability during use of some features will be improved."
There’s also a new update to Media Go, according to Lempel that is slated to go live this week that adds supports for the new Sony Ericsson Xperia mobile phones (PLAY, arc, neo) and some Walkman devices, "along with some installation, performance, and stability improvements."
Aside from the tow update mentioned above, Sony is also rolling out the "Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity" beginning April 14. This new, cloud-based, digital music service, will let music lovers "listen to millions of songs and easily discover new music from major and independent labels from around the world. With Music Unlimited on PSN, users can enjoy their favorites songs in the living room through the PS3 and then access the same music on their PSPs."

I bet there will be nothing noteworthy for this release feature wise. People shouldn't bother updating nowadays to be honest.
