PSP Comic Store to have 500 titles at launch, new AutoFlow feature detailed

Sony is aiming for a grand debut for its upcoming PSP Comics Store. Around 500 titles are expected to be available at launch, including stuff from giants like Marvel and smaller press outfits like Red 5.

The European PlayStation blog gives us this list of what to expect come launch day:

2000AD Â– Featuring Judge Dredd, Durham RedÂ…
Disney Â– Follow the adventures of Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, Donald DuckÂ….
IDW Â– Astro Boy, Transformers, Star Trek, WormwoodÂ…
Insomnia Â– Burke & Hare, Cages, Cancer TownÂ…
iVerse Â– Who bring us content from Ape Entertainment, Archie Comics, Dabel Brothers, Image & Red 5.
Marvel Â– Astonishing X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man
Titan Â– Wallace & Gromit

They also have the dish on a new feature called AutoFlow that should make navigating through comics pages easier on the PSP:

With AutoFlow all you have to do is hit one button and the camera will float over the page to the next panel, panning and zooming automatically. We also let you move around manually if you want to get up close and personal with your comic.

While I am most certainly looking forward to getting Red 5's Atomic Robo, you'll notice that there is one big omission: no DC. The Comic Store isn't launching until the middle of next month, so there's still a chance that DC is among the other publishers that Sony says they'll announce soon. It'll be nice if they manage to get some Avatar titles in there as well. I'm really enjoying "The Chronicles of Wormwood" right now.

Once someone figures out how to hack it or whatever, and put our own comics in, I will go back and convert some of my comics to this format.

Currently the only comics I have made that can be displayed on the PSP are in jpg files.

And of course I will be distributing my comics for free, as always.

A few months ago I ran a poll asking how many ISOS people owned in the PSP forum. You would be astonished of how the ISO/UMD ratio is... in most cases it is can't be calculed because UMD + 0. In other words, CFW is equal to piracy in 95% of the cases (conservative estimate).

...because your method was terrible. Learn to do surveys that aren't horribly biased. Under question 4, there was no answer for "I ripped it myself"; the only choices you provided were all illegal, and we both know plenty of people back up their own games.

Also, I noticed several posts where the raito was something like 8 UMDs:1 illegal ISO. You then twist that data to suggest that every CFW user's entire collection is pirated. Again, totally false.

I never got to analyze the data, it was insufficient, and I admit it isn't a real statistical analysis, just a small poll. You would have a point with the "biased" thing (I missed to put backup from my games), but the fact that most people responded to it with the "illegal" responses (assuming the 4th option "other" is equal to "backup from my own games) is significant (6 out of 23, and only 2 explicitly said "backups"). And also, having illegal isos is still illegal, even if you have more UMDs.

My "95%" remark was failed, but I stick to the theory that most people with CFW pirates games. I will take out the comment I made to tainogunslinger regarding the pirated games (though I had like 75% of chance to be right). For the comics, we can't tell either if he bothered himself to scan his own collection, so I withdraw.
