Cover of Konami's Policenauts for PSOne - Image 1With only a month to go before Hideo Kojima's latest installment in the Metal Gear Solid series goes live, gamers are already on the edge of their seats awaiting its arrival. Fortunately, Sony recently offered everyone a slight fix to their Kojima fixations with one of his older works available for download on the PlayStation Store.

First released on the NEC PC-9821 platform in 1994, Konami's Policenauts has a distinctly anime-styled interactive story title which features the story of an astronaut named Jonathan Ingram who returns after being presumed dead due to a failed space mission. Many twists and turns greet Ingram after his 25 year hiatus from society; inclusive of all the signs of a well-written Kojima script.

The original PlayStation version of the game is currently available on the PlayStation Store for ¥600 (US$ 5.70). In addition, two other titles were uploaded to the store today - strategy titles Docchimo Mechamecha Docchi Mecha! and Nectaris (a.k.a. Military Madness in North America). The two games are also available for download at the same price and can be found on both the PlayStation 3 and PC Store.
