NCSOFT - Image 1Online gaming seems like a very viable market that game consoles can get into, so game makers and hardware firms are going all out to capitalize on the situation. In this year's E3, Sony Computer Entertainment and NCsoft have announced that they're forging ties to bring exclusive content for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.

The deal they entered provides that NCsoft shall develop several titles which may be original or drawn from the developer's existing work which has a roster that includes hits like Lineage, Guild Wars and City of Heroes.

"Their track record of creating successful online games is exactly what we are looking for as we grow the PlayStation Network, delivering new, rich experiences on both PS3 and PSP," says Sony's Third Party and Developer Support Vice President Riley Russell.

According to NCsoft, their games are at a global standard and have been deployed everywhere from the US to Asia. They also claim to have a 70 million-strong user base when you total everything in each of their regional markets.

No specific titles have been disclosed for either the PS3 or the PSP, but both firms say that planning is already underway and a revelation on what projects they'll be working on will come soon.

» for real

id love to play city of heroes or something similar on my PSP!!

of course UMD games can be rather pricey, so the account fees would have to be reasonable...

» how about free?

how about no account fees i mean come on i already paid $50 for the game i dont want to pay more money just to play it! i will NEVER pay to play a mmo and if it is pay to play like wow or coh/cov then ill just get it cracked and play on a private server

» here's s tip for success to NCSoft

just port Ragnarok Online 2 for PSN and Ragnarok Online 1 for the PSP. + instant success + money.

Then also for PSN you also port all those other great successful Gravity titles such as ROSE Online, Rising Force Online and more.

» Dofus

I think Dofus would be well suited for the PSP since it's flash based and a turn by turn style of gameplay...

I'd love a good "buy once and not pay again" MMO for the PSP, such as Guild Wars. That being said, I want PSO PSP most of all, heh.

Anything similar to Lineage 2 on the PSP would be awesome =)

» YES

Lineage 2 would pwn so hardcore on PSP allthough i doubt it would happen on the psp ps3 maybe but its just too much for the psp to handle now as a post up goes i think Ragnarok Online would be great for the psp

i think if it was ported correctelly it would be a great title and would make both SCEA and Gravity alot of money
