PS3-PSP bundle spreads to UK |
Ó
Not so long ago we told you that Amazon Deutschland (Germany) was offering PS3 pre-orders for 599 Euros providing you buy a 199 Euro PSP as well. Now it looks like this idea is spreading, with HMV, a large music, DVD and video games retailer from the UK, refusing to accept PS3 pre-orders unless the buyer agrees to buy a PSP too. It isn't the standard PSP pack either: the HMV online store asks you to buy a 4GB PSP pack as well as the £425 console, bringing the grand total of the bundle to £675 ($875).
The e-mail containing this message was sent to everyone who has signed up on the HMV website to receive updates on the PS3 console and says: "Anyone who takes advantage of this offer will get priority over other HMV.co.uk customers for the PlayStation 3." You will also get Killzone Liberation and Gangs of London for the PSP with this offer. With many saying that the price of the PS3 is too high already, this will not go down well with buyers. Then there's PSP owners - aren't we getting a raw deal?
If you already own a PSP you don't really want another one, and now this bundle offer has sprung up in two territories across Europe. If this is a Sony directed offer then they need to get their priorities straightened out and remember that the thousands of PSP owners are supporting them already, so surely they should get priority over other customers.

1st!!! YIPEEEE!
Like the guy who wrote this said, if Sony was behind this, o man......
I feel something really bad is going to come out of this...
first dealys, then high prices, now forced to buy a 4gb psp just to get the console we have been waiting for for ages, this is sony's plan to make a profit by blackmailing the european market how *****ed up this is soo annoying, i hope GAME don't do this ***** deal
oh and why are we now paying over double for what people in the america are paying?
I suggest you go and price a 60gb ipod uk vs us, then a wii, then a hdtv, then property prices, rent, taxes. uk gets crapped on from all angles so no point trying to single sony out.
we're better than you. Now go finish our war.
Look forward to seeing lots of unwanted PSP's on eBay is this goes through. If only there was some good sony news for once.
F* you Sony and retailers, I'm not participating in this scam.
why the hell is everyone blaming Sony on this? Sony does NOT control what stores sell in bundles. this is totally up to the retailers. gosh, every single thing happens has to be sony's fault... Next day..."Plastic becomes a scarcity and therefore it becomes as valuable as gold. Sony's PS3 now costs $1,000 due to this problem."....People say "Damn it! It's always Sony's fault!!!"
lol, do they have monkey's telling sony how to make the best choices on how to launch a successful console ._.
This is not Sony, retailers. Here in the us to preorder online you had to buy like 7 games, 3 extra controllers, warranty, and a bunch of cables and had to pay more than $1000, did you guys forgot that already? Its retailers all over the world that want to get extra money out of everything.
thats a evil idea
£675 = $1,328.21
Seems to me like a weak attempt to boost PSP sales, and it's obvious that with so many companies doing this sort of trick, it must be a recommended Sony policy. Reminds me of the PSP launch, where the only way to reliably get a PSP was to buy one of the bundle packs. Well, that's just strengthened my resolve not to bother with the PS3.
THIS NEWS SUCKS I ALL READY HAVE A PSP AND ITS WAY IT EXPENSIVE
This is why other consoles did so good, obviously apart from being cheaper and coming out earlier.
This is probably not sony, not saying 100% not them. I hope it isn't anyways and they go after these GOUGERS and take their ps3's away from them. I hate Amazon already. Sucks for you in the UK. Hey pm me I'll send ya one(you buy it of course)
Yep, buy a 360 and get the only system to charge you to play your games online.
thats what i was thinking . i think who eevr wrote the post was thinking about euros
i love that picture though , the ps3 and the psp .
GOOD FOR YOU *****G0T
