Pro Cycling Manager/Tour de France 2007 will be released on the PC and PSP platforms - Image 1

To those of you who have been following Tour de France, be informed that it's just a matter of weeks before the 94th outing officially begins. And to those who are following the video game title based on this event, know that the official website of Pro Cycling Manager/Tour de France 2007 has just been updated.

The game itself sports two major elements: management and racing. You're given the option to manage official teams like handling contracts, training camps, transfers, and equipment, and that even includes dealing with the media. In addition to all that, you will also race through the circuit with the knowledge of your team's strengths and tactics.

The game is being developed by Cyanide Studio and will be published by Focus Home Interactive. Take note that Pro Cycling Manager/Tour de France is a long-running franchise, but this is actually the first time that it will be appearing on a handheld system: the PSP.

This is the very reason why the two companies have been telling everyone that the PlayStation Portable version is not a port of the PC one. Tour de France 2007 PSP will feature 20 official teams and their star racers, not to mention several features like five season-long careers and modes such as time trials, sprint phases, and shorter races.

yeah, look at that! this could be the worst idea for a game ever... even in light of the fact that mary kate and ashley have games made about them...

i dunno, if you're a fan of cycling isn't it distinctly possible you could go ride a bike? i mean, racing cars i can understand, you can't always just go race a car... but riding a bike?

ooh, i've thought of a game, 'the london marathon' ... what a massive waste of time that would be!

Actually, I could go race a car any time I want. You must be underage, and therefore think that we adults hop on our bikes when we have cars. And before you go spouting off like some idiot, Lance Armstrong won 7 Tour De Frances. ;)

So go race your Lamborghini Murcielago on a video game, because you will never own the real thing. ;)

Happy?

Having been a massive pro cycling fan for a while now and someone who buys Pro Cycling Manager updates for PC each year I must admit to being VERY excited by this. The games on PC are very very good - certainly not to everyone's taste, in fact most people will hate it and I'd imagine it'll get bad marks in magazines even if it IS good on PSP due to the vaguely decent cycling knowledge needed to stand a chance of winning a tour.

Still, this is just the game to play on the train journey down to Kent to watch the Tour De France next month. You'd be surprised how big the worldwide cycling fanbase is....And not all of us actually ENJOY PHYSICALLY CYCLING OURSELVES. I much prefer taking part in other sports, but get into watching the sport of cycling and there's very few greater sports.
