Prince of Persia: Rival Swords

Okay, admittedly, our coverage of Prince of Persia: Rival Swords hasn't exactly been intensive (but hey, we DID bring you the very first batch of screens for the game! Heehee). And it really pains us to finally come out with an update bearing bad news to all you PoP fanatics out there.

Said to be originally slated for release December 21st of this year, we heard news that it was pushed back to a 2007 release. And don't worry, we're not here to report that it has been pushed back even further, only that, well, there's still no exact release date for us here in the U.S. But our lucky French fellas has a set release date though, and they'll get their hands on Rival Swords come January 11 next year.

Still no news yet on when Rival Swords will land on U.S. shores, but we're definitely keeping our fingers crossed that we'll also have a release date around the same time that the game hits France. But then again if we're just wishing here, we'd want the game to be released this month, won't we? Haha. Don'tcha worry though, we'll keep you posted for more.

» Good news when you consider...

This could probably be good news considering Prince of Persia: Revelations was such a bug-ridden conversion. Even if they don't fix the audio problems they should (hopefully) fix the missing corridors and other environmental glitches.

I lost all interest in anything PoP for the PSP after the disaster that Revelations was. Sure it played fine, if you really weren't paying attention at all and didn't try to actually play the game. The sound would cut out on mine and then the soundtrack would totally screw up and the cutscenes never had the sound match up for me once.

I think I'll pass.
