As of this writing, we've still not verified if this is a universal price drop. However, if you're looking to get another unit - if in case you bricked your first one - or if you're just plain frugal, now would be a nice time to pass by EB Games or Gamestop.
If you haven't gotten a PSP already, here are several reasons purchase one now? The Triple Triad Homebrew MMO, God of War PSP, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War, and FFVII: Crisis Core. Need I say more?
Oh, and no, Joystiq claims this isn't an April Fools' prank from them, or from Gamestop.

I saw this (or something like this, a rumor perhaps) on digg like a week ago! But it is good news, maybe some more of my friends will get psps.....Also, they will probably have 303 maybe 310 though.......More of a reason to get it hacked!
Guys it's not the firmware that matters. They're dropping the price of ALL of them meaning all the ones they have NOW will also be $169.99 WOOOO!!! It's about freakin time!

Whoever took this picture is a complete retard, the price tickets have a code on the strip that says date, employee who traded in that game, and the transaction number; with that information they could find out what store it was and if GameStop wanted to stop the web leaking (assuming it's an employee) you can kiss your job goodbye (see other qj.net posts about gamestop and internet postings of information).
Well I sure can't read the code from here... lol.

I'm going to have to go and get myself another PSP. My current is from the first shipment to the US, and so is quite old and scratched up. If the new one can be downgraded, so much the better, but it wouldn't be required as long as I've my original! :)

no one really cares u saw it first... but that is tight. Wonder what is going on with the PSP slim thing. Bad thing about getting it hacked is that theres is alot of problems with the new motherboard like downgrade psps cant install 3.30. I always wonder what the homebrew community going to be without dark alex, cause i dont think hes going to want to keep everything updated forever.
