Just before the console wars begin, someone has decided to settle the PSP -vs.- DS dispute once and for all. Jon, a guy who runs a website that houses his endless webcam filmed rants (pictured left), has came out with a video that runs for 12 minutes and 47 seconds. In it, he accounts many reasons why the PSP is better than the DS. A lot of his arguments make little to no sense, and he repeats himself. I have a DS, I have a PSP, I also own GC, PS2, and XBox, and I plan on getting a PS3, and a Wii. I have both PSP, and DS, and in many ways the PSP is better than the DS, and thats not a opinion, its a fact, and I dont hate the DS, I like it, but you dont need a video to say that. - He calls it a GameBoy and says that Nintendo hasn't updated the technology.
- He cites the news and the radio as sources for his information.
- He says what the PSP stands for and doesn't know what DS stands for.
- He says the touch screen takes up too much memory and BATTERY LIFE.
- First off the battery life on the DS is great and sucks on the PSP.
- Secondly he should be saying the second screen takes up too much battery life.
- And third if I'm not mistaking, the DS has no memory, since it uses cartridages and basically doesn't need to load anything into memory.
All this within the first two minutes, at which point I just couldn't continue watching. Since I'm afraid that seeing how stupid someone can be could somehow make me stupid. I'm not sure if he's really that dumb, or if he's not being clear enough that he's joking. ok, the speakers on the psp arent as good as he says... i mean, in a sparcely populated resuraunt, it can easily be drowned out.... how can it posibly pump a warehouse?? look it up, its a fact
with the ds, you dont ALWAYS use an the buttons..the touchscreen is an adequate touch-analog stick... and the psp's analog stick is so awkwardly positioned.... and the fact that is didnt go all the way with dual analog....ya.....
the psp CAN hook up to the tv, yes, but after risking a bricking, and voiding a warrentee, you can...with a cable, you can hook up the ds.... look it up, its a fact.....
both nintendo AND sony are japanese companies...look it up, it's a fact
the ds is no gameboy..... it has improved on it, such as the now 64 bit graphics in comparison to the GBA's 8 bit....touchscreen actually takes up a bit more battary, yes, but not much... HOWEVER, the high res screen takes up much more. the psp has to pump out all this info to the screen, which is 128 bit, while the 64 bit graphics take up not even half of what the psp has to do....look it up, it's a fact....
the things with the wall plugging, battary replacing and falling-out-of-your pocket thing....all those can and will happen to both.... my psp has dropped out of my pocket while i was sitting before.... and its ok... and really, the ds is far more durable.. ds' have been dropped from about arms height and they can still work at full capacity... the psp however... if dropped from that height, will shatter.... this is simply because the ds was designed with kids in mind, and seeing how rough they are with toys, the ds is far more durable... while the psp was designed with adults and mature people in mind, it is just an amazing look and feel... and on that subject, pretty much anything can scratch the psp's screen... and one scratched, it sicks out like a dead pixel (which is another problem....).
i love my psp, don't get me wrong. once i got my psp, i pretty much forgot my psp until metroid prime came out for it. but nonetheless, in terms of an overall system, i would say that these are both almost, but not quite, equally matched
therefore I wont watch that video ;) cuz both are great portabel system, but PSP a little better (because I love the mutimedia it has to offer).

ok, i do own both, i am 12, and yes, i am asian. shut up about me being 12 and being in this psp community...jeez... i really thing this guy is not joking... hes so into it, i think he serious about this.. look at his GTA one. when this guy makes these videos, hes serious. either way, thats just my opinion, and the psp is better, but marginally...ive actaully put DOWN my psp and just started using it as a big mp3 player... the ds actaully has pretty decent games out there, even though some do lose their gimmic after about 3 weeks... but the psp's games are the same way... after a few weeks, even awesome games like ridge racer or GTA lose what was fun about them.....

Ok to sum it all up, this guy is a sony fanboy for life! I watched a video of him talking about the PS3 games which are coming out and it sounded like he knew absolutely nothing about this games. He said the ps3 is coming soon, only about a couple of months and he put this video up on March 22nd! Thats 8 months away you fat dumbass! As for this video, he is talking absolute garbage. For example, he claims that the touch screen on the DS drains out the battery and etc. In fact the DS offers more battery life than the psp. DS ranges from 6-10 hours on a full four hour charge whereas the PSP offers between 4-6 but maybe even less if you are really workin the thing. Quite frankly thats more, and the DS has much better games than the PSP as everyone knows. I dont even have a DS and I got a PSP lol I'm not a fanboy, I'm just a casual gamer and I know for a fact that the DS has much superior games compared to the PSP. So guys, we know this guy is really dumb and biased towards all of Sony's products and therefore he is an absolute fanboy.

Each system has its advantage and disadvantage. So to say that one is better than the other is pure ignorance. Both the PSP and DS house a strong library of games and each has a spectacular future.
Its too bad for the PSP losing out on the UMD movies, but I still love both systems. I own 1 PSP and 2 Nintendo DS's (2nd for wife). I have a good handful of games for each system and love them each the same.
