Pixelstation: a PopStation background and icon resource |
Seth Powell and Henric Swahn decided to make your PSX-playing days on the PSP a little bit easier, as well as a lot prettier. They informed us of their new site, which aims to help gamers find appropriate icons and backgrounds for the PSX games they're putting on their PSPs.
The site's called Pixelstation, and it makes a list of icons and backgrounds you can use for your games. Some of the backgrounds are even made from Seth's own artwork, so it should be interesting to see what he'll come up with for some of the games that'll be covered there soon.
Of course, you'll need to use Dark_Alex's 3.02 OE-B to get the PopStation capabilities, but that shouldn't be a problem for savvy members of our scene. As for uploading the images onto the respective games you want them to represent, he advocates the use of the PSX2PSP interface, currently on version 0.7, to do so.

That site is lacking Persona 1 and Persona 2 icons.

Thanks for the feedback. The news is a bit innacurate as it's just me (and another guy called tunglashor) who are doing the graphics, not Henric Swahn, but whatever
I've done FF11, Azure Dreams and FF Tactics but my server is acting weird for me (its just me, dont worry) so ill upload them once my provider gets back to me.
This is perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for!
Audio and PMF would be a nice addition to the site. Its nice for a start, but until the gallery gets a bit bigger a lot of people are going to ignore it.
I was thinking about doing audio but pmfs will be out until a legal way of creating them is released. I do have a couple I made, but they won't be on the site anytime soon.

is not working. i duno maybe its just my computer or my retarded dsl/linksys setup.
ive never really played an rpg. besides pokemon. but ive never played any 3d final fantasy games or the other ones lke chrono cross and kingdom hearts and stuff. i kinda started playing chrono trigger for snes, but thats it.. really.
Not trying to spam, but there are a wealth of community created PSX icons and backgrounds for the PSP in this thread of Maxconsole (where this site seems to get a lot of its news)

That pixelstation site is promising, but there just aren't that many games with icons available.
Here's a nice archived website of all of those icons available in the Maxconsole thread. Much easier to wade through and find things if you ask me.

I actually submitted my PopStation ImagePack site to QJ a few nights ago, but I guess it got ignored. Oh well. I'm currently reworking it - I've got some big plans for it.
Playing Chrono Trigger? Great! At least you're not stuck in 3D and hating 2D RPGs like most new generation gamers, right?
A database which programs can easily access (eg. by going to "www.someplace.com/psxicons/icon0.png?game=SCUS00001") would be very good, because popstation GUI's like PSX2PSP could access the database and automatically add icons to eboots.
This website should make it easy to grab icons and backgrounds based on their game id's.
Not only does it work in PSP but if a friend lets you "borrow" the EBOOT you can extract the image and play it on ePSXe on your PC. If that was'nt enough you can import saves from the PC game to your PSP!!!!!!, happy new year
Wow, thats a nice site. The style is a bit plain, but who cares! Theres even a couple of games that have a music file.
I voted so those images were not hosted any other place other than maxconsole, but now i regret it nice web site. As far as the Pixelstation site, its awesome as well very high quality icons thx for the nice post everyone.

chrono trigger is pretty fun. it's got cool gameplay mechanics and an awesome storyline so far.
