What's the story behind the latest mystery timer found on the PlayStation Japan website? We're not so sure ourselves, but it looks like Sony is winding itself up for another interesting release this coming June 27 at 3:00 p.m. (at least that's what it says on the countdown).

Upon loading the page, you'll see a pixelated timer counting down the hours alongside the word "orz". If you repeatedly click on the strange title, it then morphs into a new word (or2) with a congratulatory message and a strange green blob slowly traversing the bottom of the screen.

Considering the pixelated presentation of the teaser, it's possible that it may have something to do with bringing back one of their old school releases. Whatever the case may be, your guess is as good as ours. No worries, though. We'll be sure to keep our eyes out for any word regarding this enigmatic countdown.

» I agree

But what does "orz" mean?

by Keith K - 2008-06-24 00:16
» orz

'Orz' is the japanese equivalent of "Dammit" or "D'oh!"

by whaleshark - 2008-06-24 00:36
» LOL

thats pretty funny. too bad it doesnt say which game it is... +(

» uhhhh...

Don't make up fake meanings :/

Orz is far from being a Japanese word. VERY far. Japanese for dammit is Kuso, Shimata, etc.

» orz

orz or or2 is a pictogram of a man on his hands and knees sometimes used on Japanese internet sites to indicate regret or being sorry for some shortcoming. it's kinda like saying "sorry" or "excuse me" or "i was wrong"

» Probably unrelated but....

The outline of the timer reminds me of the Nintendo Logo outline if you ask me.

by akadewboy - 2008-06-24 03:29

» Could I be right??

For what it's worth I think we are looking at a Star Control Sequel.

The race Orz feature in it and the Z changing to a 2... maybe.

» I Agree

I thought the same thing as soon as I saw it..!

I know it would never happen, but can you imagine if Sony bought out Nintendo..! Lol!

» I think....

Maybe, this will be a classic port, pretty sure of a Jap. Game (Duh. That can easily be assumed!) Hope it'll be fun! Darn, as of a totally unrelated note, I need a Pandora's Battery!

by Musashe2 - 2008-06-24 17:15
» hint pl0x?

after clicking multiple times it turns into a 2...

this may be hinting 2.40 on the 27th at 15hundred

hours?

by aroxim - 2008-06-24 19:29
» Musashe2

» @jaxerir

Do you have some problems man? o.O ...

by bainface - 2008-06-25 20:31
» orz is used in our country quite frequently... and yes, it farts

anyway, have you guys realized that if you take the term "or2" and advance each letter by one (take the next letter in alphabetical and numerical order) you get "ps3"?

am I just thinking way hard? but too perfect to be a coincidence no? It could be a sequel to a PS3 game on the PSP! just to leave that out on the table, have it in anyway you want lllorzlll
