Pink PSP comes with TA-086 motherboard |
Ó
Well-known PSP hacker 0okm has today discovered that the new 'girly' style Pink PSP comes with a new style of motherboard, one which is fortified against homebrew. Although the Pink PSP may look innocent and even has a nice 'Pink' embellishment on the inside of the PSP, it isn't no slacker. The latest addition to the PSP color scheme comes with a TA-086 motherboard and a factory-installed firmware 2.81. Here's the technical specs:
PCB Ver : TA-086
CPU Core : CXD2967GG
Media Engine : CXD5026-203GG
MCP : K5E5658ACM-D060 1.8V/1.8V
Test report :
Factory FW2.81 (BoxCode L)
0okm has said that tomorrow he will try to 'hardDown' (that's downgrading the PSP to firmware 1.5 using hardware) it. We'll see his test results soon. Remember, although the Pink PSP has looks to die for, the motherboard isn't quite as innocent. If you want the chance to downgrade a PSP this Christmas, you've got a better chance of having firmware 2.71 and below if you buy a black or white PSP, but this still isn't guaranteed.

I'm betting that it will still be hardware-downgradable.
Even if it's only to 2.71 and not 1.5, it's still all that's needed.
IM FIRST AND SHRAG AND ADVERTISING ARE NOOBS AND BOTS
First of all the name is Snarg
Second of all, I believe the definition of NOOB would better suite someone who actually uses the term NOOB, and someone who actually tries to be the first post for the sole purpose of procalaiming that they are indeed the first post.
Get a life.
who even wants a pink psp?
ROFL.
Seriously dude, who would want one...
Can someone please expain what the term 'Hard-down' means. Thanks in advance,
ps dont bother with all the 'lol what a F******* noob' stuff, we all gotta start some-where and i am most certainly not a newcomer to psp homebrew.

TA-086 was first spotted with 2.71 I thought? and it's Ookm we are talking about here. There is no such thing as a blacklist when you can reverse engineer code like the mad scientist.
