Screenshot of Sega's Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP - Image 1With the year winding down to a close, the Jump Festa 2008 gaming event in Japan will be featuring some highly anticipated games that gamers can get a sneak peek of before their scheduled release dates. One of these games to be showcased will be a playable build for Sega's Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP.

This portable version of the Phantasy Star series is actually based on the PS2 and PC released Phantasy Star Universe and its expansion Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus.

However, much like many of the ported RPG games onto the handhelds nowadays, this remade version will sport a lot of additional features not included in the original. Asides from two new additional characters included in the PSP version, the game will also feature a four player ad hoc mode.

If you're lucky enough to find yourself in the neighborhood when Jump Festa 2008 hits, then this may be a good opportunity to see how Phantasy Star Portable plays itself out. In the meantime, you can check out the update as it was posted on the official website available through the Via link below.
