PaRappa on the PSP!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's official: our groovy, little doggie hip hop hero is finally making his way into our PSPs pretty soon as it has just been confirmed that PaRappa The Rapper will be released in this handheld format. In fact, his official site has already already modified to show these changes.

Though the official release date is yet to be announced, the official site boasts that 4 people will be able to play the game on ad hoc mode, and that game sharing will be possible.

Stemming from its Playstation roots when it was first released in 1996, PaRappa the Rapper follows the exploits of our 2D rapping dog. It's a musical game where the goal is to hit the correct buttons, at the correct sequence, at the correct time in order to produce an intelligible imitation of rap.

to #1

Apparently, yes, especially those who were around when it was released on the PS1. :) http://www.qj.net/PaRappa-the-Rapper-find-his-way-onto-PSPs/pg/49/aid/65000#comments Taking a wild guess, but maybe you're a 14-year old who has no idea what's actually going on so you just sling around stupid, angry comments. Feeling left out, maybe?

woo!

I have this on the PS, and PS2 :-) But lets be honest, Um Jammer Lammy was the KING (or queen as we should say it)... playing the guitar, then as a bonus you could play the game again using rap-tracks with Parappa! We need a Lammy revival! Pleasssseee! (PS3 hint hint)

Yes this game was one of my favorites on the PS. So is this going to be a new game or a remake?
by - 2006-09-16 10:11:27
cool

i never played this game hopefully it will become a hit title
by - 2006-09-16 10:52:09
parappa

I loved this game during the original launch date of the PS1, I'm pretty sure I'll love it on the PSP. Hell, I'm already loving the PSP port of Intelligent Qube for the PSP, IQ Mania. PS1 classics own. Simple, basic, yet fun to play. I do really hope that the Um Jammer Lammy game is unlockable in this version though. It'd be a waste if it was just Parappa especially considering that UMDs can hold like 1.8gb which is more than 2 CD-Rs.

Remake

based on the screens it appears to be a remake of the first game
by - 2006-09-16 12:58:19

Kick, Punch, it's all in the mind.... hahahah i remember playing this game on the PS1... ahahha
by - 2006-09-16 13:07:48

Actually I believe the lyrics where... Kick, Punch, it's all in the mind, if you want to test me, I'm sure you'll find...
by - 2006-09-16 13:19:26
hehehe...

kick, punch, it's all in the mind, if you want to test me, i'm sure you'll find, the things i'll teach you is sure to be you, nevertheless you'll get a lesson from teacher, NOW KICK!

Good game.

But that Frog with his bohemian rap and that chicken with her... voice... I hated them.
by - 2006-09-16 15:07:43
Hells yeah!

This game was a freaking blast back when it first came out and I've always wished someone would port it to the PSP. HELLS YEAH!
by - 2006-09-16 17:55:25

by - 2006-09-16 19:29:52
@23

But I liked the frog ahah. I hated the chicken and then the bathroom stage once it got to the chicken. Haha. But hmm..since Parappa's coming out...let's all hope that Square-Enix makes a port of Bust-A-Move/Groove. :)
