NPD US: Wii posts one-month record, Gears of War 2 leads software charts |
Ó

It seems the economic slump hasn't done a thing to curb the call of the holiday shopping season. NPD data shows that hardware sales during the month of November almost doubled the numbers posted in October.
The big winner is again the Nintendo Wii, posting a one-month record of 2.04 million sales. Can anybody say "recession-proof"? Sales of the Nintendo DS also tripled last month, giving it a total of 1.57 million units sold in November.
The Xbox 360 also posted some impressive numbers at the expense of the Sony PlayStation 3. The Microsoft console outsold the PS3 by more than two to one, while PS3 sales were significantly lower compared to sales in November 2007. The PSP also outsold the PS3.
- Wii - 2.04 million units
- Nintendo DS - 1.57 million units
- Xbox 360 - 836,000 units
- PSP - 421,000 units
- PlayStation 3 - 378,000 units
- Gears of War 2 (Epic, Xbox 360) - 1.56 million units
- Call of Duty: World at War (Treyarch, Xbox 360) - 1.41 million units
- Wii Play (Nintendo, Wii) - 796,000 units
- Wii Fit (Nintendo, Wii) - 697,000 units
- Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo, Wii) - 637,000 units

- Resistance 2 (Insomniac, PS3) - 385,000 units

So gears didn't sell 2 million in a day?
The statistics don't lie but I don't remember anyone claiming it did. If anyone did claim it did then it was probably Microsoft and by selling 2 million in a day probably meant shipped 2 million on launch day.
I remember a lot of people claiming it did, but of course it came from VGChartz.
That's to prove, Wii's more fun than crappy Microsoft Xbox 360 and Almighty PS3.
PSP still did his good job, and DS prove that Graphics aren't the only thing, once again.
Carry on!

True, but you'll get downvoted for spouting logic.
Wii will always sell more hardware, but the game sales tell a different story.
Wii play is #3, only because it comes with a wiimote.
Wii fit is #4, most likely due to initial supply issues and false promises of fitness.
Mario kart is #5 because it's decent, and the only traditional style game on the list.
Wii music is #10 because apparently people like looking like Wii-tards playing imaginary instruments.
All the real next gen game sales clearly go to the real next gen systems.
"True, but you'll get downvoted for spouting logic."
WHAT THE DEUCE!!!!!
"Wii music is #10 because apparently people like looking like Wii-tards playing imaginary instruments."
HAHAHAHA!!!!!! Typical douche bag comment. You'll be a jackass until the day you die.
I looked at it and thought...NO WAY, not for me. Well, I bought it anyway for my nieces. I'm told they can't put it down. One day I went over there and played it with them. I have to admit, I was surprised. I was playing the drums and it's actually quit complicated. The drums that is, the other instruments are pretty easy.
Leave it to Mr. Common Douche Bag to make unfounded comments on something HE HAS NEVER EVEN USED!!!!! What a TOOL!!!!

I'm sorry, but that is the most retarded "musical performance" I've ever seen!
You even have to buy Wii fit just to get bass pedals for the drums! That game got horrible ratings from nearly every site! Miamoron's performance was even worse.
Hopefully, Nintendo will now fire Miamoron after this failure just like Gunpei Yokoi after the failure of the Virtual Boy.
Yup, it's a damn good thing you don't have to act like that while playing.
I suppose you are stupid enough to believe that everyone who plays Rockband also looks like the people on the TV comericals????
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!
As always, you are such a fool.
