Nominations for Game Developers Choice Awards 2008 soon to open

Nominations for the Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) 2008 will soon be open, beginning on December 17 this year. The categories for the regular awards are as follows:

Best Audio
Best Game Design
Best Technology
Best Visual Arts
Best Writing
Best Debut Game
Best Downloadable Game
Best Handheld Game
Innovation
Game of the Year

Three special awards - the Ambassador Award, Pioneer Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award - are now open for nominations from qualified game professionals. The submission of nominations for these special awards will run until November 30.

The awarding ceremony will be held during the Game Developers Choice 2008 event, in the Esplanade Room of Moscone Center located in San Francisco.
