Nokia N-Gage boss Kaidesoja: We are not scared of the PSP Phone - Image 1We are all aware that Nokia is trying to re-establish N-Gage as a mobile gaming platform capable of going up against Nintendo and Sony. We also know that there have been persistent rumors regarding a PSP Phone.

With those in mind, Nokia games boss Jaakko Kaidesoja was asked in a recent press event what he thinks about the possible appearance of a mobile phone from Sony Ericsson. The boss had this to say:

I'm not scared about anybody. The real question is how do they do it? Can they create a link between the PSP games and a phone?

Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We've been doing this for two years and it hasn't been easy.

Aside from this exciting and highly probable rivalry, Kaidesoja was also asked about his thoughts on the recent hacks done by other mobile users to their First Access service. The game boss said that they had already foreseen this happening.

"We knew people would crack it. Cracking a sisx file isn't that hard, so of course we expected it. And it's good to get feedback on the First Access application even from people with other handsets," added Kaidesoja. Keep checking back here at QJ.NET for more details regarding this matter.

N-Gage???

Didn't know they were still around...

Nokia must be so full of themselves

If they think the N-Gage is still in competition. It failed as a gaming device, and failed as a phone.

...

"Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We've been doing this for two years and it hasn't been easy." They did something in this direction? And for about 2 years? I didn't noticed this. And they should be afraid. A PSP Phone would sell like hell. Much more than their failed N-Gage.

....

It´s not the first N-Gage generation they are talking about... that was a major failure.

BS

AHAHAH. What a joke. I'm pretty positive that, if ever released, the PSP phone will run the same PSP games as the current PSP. The PSP is in a completely different class from their N-Crap. Its as stupid as Nintendo thinking they have "beaten" MS and Sony with the Wii sales. Fools arent even in the same competition. Its like comparing the sales of a Bentley to a cheap ass Hyundai. The cheap ass ***** is irrelevant.

Ok... lol Nokia thinks they can stand against Sony! :D

Ok nokia can be company that makes cool looking Cellphones, but The I-phone already beat them! lol :D Also the N-Gage it wasn't a Handheld video game, it was a Cellphone pretending to be one(Handheld Video game)! XD! I mean those graphics weren't up the level, not even with the Game Boy SP Graphics! XD So they been doing multiplayer and online stuff? For 2 years?! WTF?! Where!? In the moon? XD I mean " it was so big that noBody noticed" ! lol Here is the real thing! Theres a Rumor that Sony wants to release a PSPhone! oK, we hope so, but Sony will make a Handheld Videogame be a Cellphone at the same time. No thats how u make things! NOKIA!! If u want a Cellphone becomes a Handheld videogame!!! First make a Handheld videogame! Then U make the Cellphone with everything there! Ta da! U got a PSPhone! No... Not a N-Gone! XD it was gone from the begining! lol :( I feel sorry for the people who spend $250-$200 on the Nokia N-Gage... lol O well hope that he (boss) understand that Sony is a Multi-Media Company and that Nokia is just a Cellphone company... maybe a cd player company too..? XD!!! lol Cheers! PSPMAN90

Nokia need to understand

That Sony is making a handheld system into a phone. Not like what Nokia did, which was adding gaming to a phone. Sony already has a great handheld system with a great library of awesome games to back it up. Adding phone to that is a piece of cake. They just have to get a cool design and we're set. I wonder if it will be touchscreen though. Would make sense considering how large the PSP screen already is. And we'd need a keypad as well (qwerty ftw). Anyhow, I doubt we'll see this product for a while. Perhaps this PSP phone will be the PSP2 we're waiting for :)
